I've seen a map of the state of "Jefferson". I assume it'll basically be Nebraska... mostly farms and meth.

 

While I'm sure the residents of rural California find the image-obsessed beautiful people of LA and the drug-addled flamboyant homosexuals of the Bay Area unappealing, those places also represent almost all of California's economic power. They're basically looking to create more states that suck federal dollars like a vacuum cleaner because they don't produce enough on their own.

12 Senators from the existing California. Ain't happening as the article states. Congress will never agree to this. But then again, it is Congress.

California has two senators representing more than 38 million people. Wyoming has two senators representing fewer than 600,000 people. About 30 years ago, as I recall, there was a proposal to chop up California into three states. That probably makes more sense than six states.

I wish we would go back to the old way of selecting Senators The beauty of the system is that in the Senate every state regardless of population is equal. Seems the Socialists would love that.
