North Carolina 74 Duke 66

Featured Replies

If the Cuse can beat the Dukies then Duke will move up to number 2. How about the no foul call on the layup near the end of the game. Brings back memories of another Duke comeback a few years ago. Didn't help this time though.

Actually I remember Duke storming the court a few seasons ago after a last second win over Clemson I believe. But, whatever. You get excited and run about 50 feet to the center of the court and just stand around. I just think it is incredibly dangerous for the fans but more importantly the players, that is my biggest problem with it. I am tired of talking about it.

Virginia Tech if I recall. It was a shot from about 35 feet that went in at the buzzer.

Wow! Why all the hate? Carolina has been been deemed an untalented low level team this year by many, and to beat Duke along with UK and few others with their so called talented "top recruiting" classes is a big deal. And yes, the tarheels have been there before, quite a few times. If you don't understand the rivalry between these two schools, then you don't understand the joy ob beating one another. Storm the court, raise hell, let the fans have some fun while in college. In case you didn't notice, the tarheel players themselves acted as if it was just another win against a top ranked team, no showboating just class. Don't Hate! Congratulate!

Oscar Combs just tweeted that UK fans stormed the court and carried Coach Hall off the floor after beating Tennesssee in the 1973 finale to win the SEC. It was Hall's first season as head coach.

Yep.

Didn't mind the court storming at all.

Look at all the adversity UNC has faced this year. They were unranked and Duke was top 5.

Party on Garth!

But this was no where close to winning the title...

Doesn't matter. Elite programs win titles. That's what makes them elite. Act like you've been there before.

First time since 1961/62 season that one team has beaten all 4 of the top 4 pre-season teams.

I was curious if it ever happened; thanks for the info.

I could not believe that ESPN had a countdown to tip off like CNN's countdown to the State of the Union Address.

It absolutely does matter. What you are saying isn't even in the same ballpark

Naw. People just take themselves too seriously these days.

I could not believe that ESPN had a countdown to tip off like CNN's countdown to the State of the Union Address.

Didn't they have a countdown to tipoff for the UK-Florida game as well. Those are pretty common when you host Game Day.

Yea the they have a countdown from the 8:00 p.m. show til tipoff on Sat. night. But this was a Thurs. night game and I thought I saw the countdown over the box score during the 7:00 p.m. game that's what I had never seen before.

There's a countdown for this Rivalry game every year, and it starts like two or three days prior to the game. I'm used to seeing ESPN do it though.
