It's called Winter.

Not around these parts its' not -- when they are going back to 1978 to find a comparison, this is a very unique season. I'd much rather go back to the bark-chompers (:bunny:) complaining about global warming when it is 50 all winter than the steady stream of "sorry, I'm going to be late" texts I get on days like today.

Been snowing at a pretty good clip for a few hours now in Bardstown. Fortunately it warmed up overnight enough to melt some of the ice on the trees. It was getting dicey there for a while with my willow tree sagging on the main power and cable line into the house.

Hey, all you geniuses who sang "Let it Snow" back in December... Happy now?

Yes. I'm loving this winter, and I want a lot more snow.

Imagine how bad this winter would be if we didn't have global warming. :sssh::lol::lol:

Ok...so we have had artic blasts, snow, now ice, a warm day or two...all we are missing now to top off the winter is an earthquake.

Don't forget the POLAR VORTEX... which I'm pretty sure was a nerf ball I got as a kid.

I should get some info on this weekend with the afternoon runs. It looks like we are locked into the pattern of a system coming through about every couple of days are so at least for the next week.

[h=2]More than 100 crashes in Lexington caused by snow Wednesday[/h]

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - Snow started falling in Lexington during Wednesday afternoon rush hour, causing problems for drivers all over town.

Interstate 75 and some of the city's main roads all had crashes or traffic backups because of the snow and ice. Lexington Police tell us they worked 118 crashes Wednesday night with all of them caused by the weather. Those 118 were non-injury crashes, and police say they worked 10 injury crashes on top of that number. Also, power outages were left over from Tuesday night's ice storm on top of everything else.

For the record I like the cold weather, much prefer it to summer temps.

It is the slick roads and walkways and steps that I could do without. Every day I hope my parents don't slip and fall, or worse, wreck their car.

Agree. I worry about my dad and my teenage driver.

But I'm ready for the seasons to change!

I hate the cold weather, only good thing is b-ball season....:lol2:. I freeze the way it is, have a big blanket during July. Will be glad when I can put all of the thermal clothing away for the year. ....

We have the boots, snow pants, gloves, etc scattered and drying by the back door . I would much prefer that be swim suits and towels.

After the looking over this afternoon runs, as of now, the snow on Saturday doesn't look impressive. We have a chance of more snow on Sunday. One thing to note, the models are starting to come into agreement about snow this weekend. If I had to say a number based on what I saw around 1 inch maybe a little more in NKY. Just throwing that out there so don't hold me to that. Will get a good read tomorrow.

This morning I'm staying with light snow for most of the state of around 1". Parts of EKY may see 1-2". The snow should change into a rain snow mix in SEKY for awhile Saturday then turn back to snow. We should have another round of light snow Sunday-Monday. Parts of NKY may see 1+ inches out of that. I'll refine my forecast later today. Have a good one.

I'm over this winter. Sick of working in it. Sick of driving in it. Sick of it!
