Trinity 2014

Featured Replies

I still think Young will be the starting QB. Led the JV to the record listed above. 6' 1" and has a cannon for an arm.

Is Bishop Goreman from Vegas still in the picture? Anyone?

I think it was stated somewhere on BGP that BG could not come up with the money so it fell through

The new DC is "Coach Cobb" from Texas, don't know anything about him or even his full name but supposedly he has family in Louisville. Also, Trinity will have Spring Practice this year starting the week after spring break which is a change, this will be the first time Trinity has ever had Spring Football. However, it will be 10 practices with no pads from what I hear. Go Rocks!!

He previously coached at WKU, Apollo, and Henderson County.

What position does Jake Woosley play? Per Courier Journal, he was named MVP at the National Underclassmen Combine last Sunday. Thanks

CB and Slot

I understand everyone but the QBs are learning an offensive and a defensive position! The football staff is in place. Coach Beatty will not hesitate to move away from the complete platoon system. Trinity is still waiting for the signed Cocoa contract for the home game 9/19.

With all the discussion about 2015 and beyond I thought it would be appropriate to visit the 2014 playoff pairings. Trinity and the rest of the "supers" reside in District 4. Even numbered year, higher seed and/or same number seed is the host. District One is the cross district. Daviess, Henderson, Marshall and Muhlenberg. This winner is designated Region One Champion. Then, round four will find the survivor of District 2 and District 7 (most likely everyone's favorite: Scott County) aka: Region 2 Champ hosting the District Four/One winner! Wow, Scott County could host Trinity at Georgetown College for the first time. Trinity and Scott County met in Bowling Green once and three times in St. Matthews. That will be the last opportunity for these two to meet before the state finals in 2015-18. The NKY and central KY 6A teams petitioned the KHSAA stating "Louisville" should be paired with western KY schools during those seasons.

I also do not expect Male or Manual to continue their regular season series with THS after 2014. I hope my information is incorrect about this. Trinity will need to find 3-5 teams for 2015-2018.

^ we may be at an even higher "level" by then.....I would imagine we'll get 1-2 southern teams in the mix......

Side note: Connor Foos is having a monster off season, went to a Rivals combine, and scored off the charts....he's enormous.

Great to hear about Foos. I thought he had a good year last season as a soph, I think he was. He was about 235 last year, I believe.

From Dallas Jackson:

Cocoa was working towards national relevance when it kicked down the door as a Class 2A program in Florida defeating defending Texas 5A Division I champion, Abilene High in 2010.

It has since added wins against Oradell (N.J.) Bergen Catholic, Olive Branch (Miss.) High, and Jefferson Hills (Pa.) Thomas Jefferson as well as suffered defeats against Cincinnati (Ohio) Colerain, West Monroe (La.), and Dallas (Texas) Skyline.

Cocoa coach John Wilkinson said that his program has benefitted with the games but added that he keeps getting them because they are an affordable, quality opponent.

“We are a cheap date,” he said. “We travel light with so few kids and coaches that it makes it affordable to get us in those games. Plus I believe it is a reward for the hard work the kids put in and gives them an opportunity to see things they otherwise wouldn’t.”

Cocoa had its biggest roster in the program history last year as its expanded to 35 players in the state playoffs. It returns the majority of its starters and will have a second-year starting quarterback.

It finished the year at No. 21 in the state of Florida and figures to start in that same range next season.

I thought I remembered them being in the lower classes in FL. Should be a great opportunity for both teams.

Would Ben Foos be his dad by any chance?
