Trinity 2014

Featured Replies

Neither gentleman was interested in being the DC. I understand Trinity is reaching out to a couple of folks, one well known and one not so well known.

Anything new?

Anything new?

Not yet, officially. I believe Trinity has their d-line coach. They may have a db coach and the dc is still in the offer stage. Their names will not mean much on here and I'd rather wait until things are finalized. I did confirm more emphasis is being placed on teaching players multiple positions in 2014.....remember Coach Beatty stated he will "get things fixed".

Does it appear that Beatty will remain at T this year?

I am not really in the loop but I have heard absolutely nothing that would suggest otherwise.

Where did Beatty come from? Would he be considered Trinity's greatest football coach?

He came from suburban Kansas City.

Probably.

Don't see him leaving now, last year should have left him with a feeling of unfinished business. Making major changes on the defensive side of the ball, shows a renewed interest in getting the team back course again. Last year was an anomaly he would just soon forget.

Since thsrocks let the cat out of the bag I will comment on it. Don't buy in to the "Multiple Position" stuff, one of the advantages to being at T or X is that you can Platoon, your opponent is physically exhausted second half & you are fresh bc your guys go 1 way, Defense or Offense, that's the advantage. Beatty isn't going to give that up, he only wants to ensure he has quality backups if guys go down, that's it. Can't wait to see who the DC will be, that's the only thing that matters, although the new Dline coach seems to be very qualified.

We have "platooned" for years....even under Beatty.....he doesn't think about the "fresh" thing at all. He believes at that age, and with the conditioning that we do, that the kids should have no issue being "fresh". His #1 goal is to have THE very best 11 guys on the field at any given time. IF that means that we platoon to do so, it will happen, if we don't need to, it won't.

I have seen more people on here asking what else he feels he needs to do, and my answer is this.....nothing. He loves it. As soon as he no longer loves it, it will be over. Our freshman class last year, was exceptional. It has been argued that it was a better class than Quick, Hatcher, Dawkins, White, and Wright's class.......... I sure hope so, wouldn't that be fun to coach?

Wow!!!!!!!!! :scared:

"Most successful" might be better way of describing Bob Beatty's tenure. Generally speaking, local competion has been on the decline in district, county, and state (especially with 6 classes) the past 20 years. Busing has ruined the majority of JCPS programs that were once very successful.

Jim Kennedy may always hold the moniker "greatest Trinity coach". He coached the Rocks to their first title and their second and left Coach Moore the 1973 team ready for the third title run.

Every coach since Mr. Kennedy has built upon his foundation.

I'll say this about Beatty...........with the schedules his teams play, he obviously is not worried about his lwon-loss legacy.

What does Trinity need to do to improve in 2014? What do they need to keep doing to be successful? Remember, please be constructive.

The Rocks are still searching for a defensive coordinator. The person offered decided to remain at their current school in Ohio.

Hmm, what kid of D does T usually run now a day?
