Here's my post from January 21, 2014:

Default Trinity will play 10 regular season games in 2014

According to Dallas Jackson, formerly of Rivals.com, and currently at Nationalhsfootball.com, Trinity has filled it's 2014 schedule. "Philadelphia (Pa.) Imhotep Charter is slated to travel into Harry Jansing Field at Marshall Stadium for a contest on Sept. 5 and Cocoa (Fla.) High will come to Derby City for a game on Sept. 19." This is very good news for the Shamrock faithful! Road trips to Indy Cathedral, Cin Moeller and Colerain, and a trip to Ensworth outside of Nashville, are already set.

Here is the schedule per information presented:

22-Aug at Ensworth (TN)

29-Aug Carmel (IN)

5-Sep Imhotep Charter (PA)

12-Sep at Colerain (OH)

19-Sep Cocoa (FL)

26-Sep at Cathedral (IN)

3-Oct St. Xavier

10-Oct at Manual

17-Oct Male

24-Oct open

31-Oct at Moeller (OH)

O ye of little faith!:dancingpa

Bus trip package including ticket, parking fee, and driver tip for the four out of state road trips are available at $160.00 when paid by August 1. Contact me if interested.

I am not really in the loop but I have heard absolutely nothing that would suggest otherwise.

Bob's not going anywhere.

Male did beat you last year. Maybe they are looking for more quality opponents!

Your irony rocks but the Trinity-Male series has indeed been a fascinating one for both schools.

After their first 11 games with Male (1957-67), Trinity sported a gaudy 0-10-1 record against the Dawgs. After the next 11 games (1968-85), the Rocks had evened the series at 10-10-2. From 1986 thru 2013, the Rocks usually had the edge & now lead the series 20-14-2.

I really think Male's good days are back to stay, thanks to Coach Wolf and staff. The kids have played hard for him & he almost pulled it off last year. A lot of guys may be making the choice to go to Male now than before. It would be a shame if Trinity and Male, and Trinity and Manual, did not keep their series going.

Trinity offered to cover transportation costs for many Kentucky schools in attempt to gain a home and home series.

Odds are Male and Manual will opt not to play after 2014. The "new" district opponents Trinity will face in 2015 have very little football tradition and even less support from their school communities. I guess one option will be for Trinity and St X to increase their ticket prices for their annual battle. :scared:

I hate to throw this number into the conversation but Trinity's combined record against her new 2015 district opponents (Ballard, Seneca, Eastern, and J'town) is 111-9. The average score in these 120 games is 34-9. Whoever came up with this district arrangement but then kept Male, Manual, and St. X together in another district is a flipping genius. Didn't somebody say this is crazy and we better change it?

Do you really believe that Trinity hasn't tried to schedule more in state teams? They've already said that when the new alignment starts they hope Male and Manual will continue to be on the schedule. The ball is in the court of other teams in the state.

I have to second All Tell here. As recently as 2010, we played Bowling Green (escaping with a 14-12 win) and by rights should be playing them every year. BG plays Louisville St. X this year plus a tough McCallie (TN) team. I don't get it. The relationship between T and BG is good, the BG fans I've talked to really like the series, but I guess something isn't working out. Highlands seems not to want to play us in the regular season but this summer we will play our 5th straight exhibition game (4 qtrs, score, refs, game speed) with them. We should be playing Scott Co., Meade Co., and a number of others. Rock fans would love it.

And 3 defending state champions.

Plus one of the new teams, Imhotep Charter, lost in their PA division championship game. The other new team, Cocoa (FL), was knocked out of their playoffs by the #4 team in the US (per MaxPreps). We are lucky they scheduled us so we could have a 10-game season and 4 home games.

I got my season tickets re-order form in the mail yesterday. That's one check I love to write. GO ROCKS!

There is no bad blood between BG and T. BG played X in '05 and '06 in the Rafferty's Bowl, then a 4 game series with T followed. BG decided to mix it up with X for a game series. Nothing more, they were just trying to diversify their schedule a little bit. Series between and X and BG ends this year, so maybe the Purples and Rocks could get their series going again.

Coach Wallace's quote in front of the Trinity broadcast team. "I will never play Trinity again!"

You mean Coach Wallace said that to our 3 football broadcasters or just within earshot? Can that be documented or was the statement heard/overheard by a few people? If you say it happened, then it happened; your veracity is solid with me. But I wonder could he have been exasperated at the time and cooled off later? If it was a policy statement, that's the AD's decision. I don't think even Coach Beatty at Trinity makes the final decision on the schedule. And the BG fans are terrific to us when we visit.

It was stated to these guys as part of a long conversation after the last Trinity-Bowling Green game. I know these guys very well and they would not make this up. I also heard from a current administrator he voiced his displeasure with Wallace over this decision.

From discussions with various Trinity personnel over time Scott County, HHS, Bowlng Green, Simon Kenton, Ryle, Elder, & Cincy St. X are among the teams to turn down the Rocks in recent years. Male and Manual will likely join this list after 2014.

Why do these teams not want to play T? Especially Elder and Cincy St. X?

I tend to be more sympathetic with the reluctance of OH teams to play Trinity since the games affect their post season participation and seeding. There's no good reason in my mind why teams like SK, Scott Co., BG etc. won't play Trinity.

I was thinking the opposite about the Ohio teams since they get a higher standing if they beat someone of Trinity's ilk. And I don't get the other teams not wanting to play Trinity since it's they have a legit shot to beat them. Why not take the large gate they the Rocks will bring and enjoy an exciting game.
