I thought the worst call of the night was the foul on Young in front of the bench. Roger Ayers will never give UK a decent call. Should have been out of bounds on UK and Ark. ball. Plain as day Young never touched anyone. Ark. player stumbled on his own and went and made both free throws I think.

The head of NCAA officials was at the game last night evaluating. I'd love to have been a fly on the wall after the game.

I din't see any of the 2nd half. I saw a replay of the stick back in OT. You all can complain about refs and calls all you want, but the lack of effort I saw on that play was epic. Grade schoolers do a better job on blocking out on the weakside. #1 should be runiing until his shoes fall off...

If he hit his arm it was while the Arkansas player stumbled and fell . Clearly the UK player was out of bounds on his back with the ball. Ayers was right there and didn't call it. This is the first game he hasn't throwed a T on Cal. He does every game he calls when UK is playing.

He was obviously bumped which caused him to go into the backcourt, but what was he thinking by trying to get the ball in that position on the floor.

 

Yes, he was fouled. One of several by Arkansas that the officials seemed to overlook last night.

 

Randle probably has some serious bruises on his arms this morning. I hate it when refs get caught up in the crowd frenzy and call touch fouls on one end of the floor and play-on's on the other end.

The last four times Roger Ayers has called UK games they have lost. Cal got a T in the previous three from him.

You do realize that Arkansas had just as many fouls called on them, right? Difference is:

 

- Arkansas made their FT's

- didn't commit dumb turnovers

 

That's the difference in the game, not the officiating.

 

The foul total was 31 on UK and 29 on Arkansas.

 

UK has been called for 30+ fouls twice this season. At UNC and last night at Arkansas.

 

Coming in to the night, they were averaging 18.2 fouls per game. So they were called for 13 more fouls than normal.

 

As for Arkansas getting "just as many" fouls called on them. UK has only been called for more fouls than their opponent twice. At UNC and at Arkansas.

 

Coming into the night, UK's opponents were being called for 6.6 more fouls per game than UK.

 

Calling the game fairly doesn't mean both teams end up with the same number of fouls at the end of the night.

 

Kentucky's style of play is always (usually) going to generate more fouls on their opponents than they commit.

I'm not even sure how to address the issue with the officials. I'm not blaming them for the loss by any means. That was the worst officiated game I've ever watched from both sides.

There were clear PHANTOM calls made in the 4th q and overtime that put both teams on the line. Arkansas did not foul Harrison there at the end. WCS had clear position for the block to be called at the end. 60 total fouls with the national supervisor of officials in the stands. The announcers on several occasions saying "I didn't see that" or "clearly no call there".

It's funny because wasn't it the Cleveland ST. Assistant coach who talked about how bad the officiating was at Rupp and he said it cost them the game, yet a lot of people on here defended the calls and what not? Same situation, home team often gets a few more calls just like the Cats do at Rupp.

I thought it stunk both directions. The benefit of replay sure makes it hard on those guys. Every mistake there for everyone to see. The sideline foul call when Harrison was clearly out of bounds, then the Arkansas player was with possession clearly out of bounds then the phantom foul call was the worst of the night. 3 mistakes at point blank IMO

If there was a foul on Harrison for pushing the Arkansas player OB under the goal, then how is the sodomy at half court not a foul and called a backcourt violation?

The fouls being pretty even doesn't mean a thing. It is when they are called and the result of them that matters.

Harrison was definitely fouled by #00(not the player who was guarding him)when he whacked him across his left arm as he went by him. The call on WCS was correctly called.
