Nope. The fans at Boyle County love Larry French and always will. Sometimes people decide that other places are a better fit for whatever reason.

 

Everybody that I know in the program agrees. They all love Larry. Could come down to wanting to coach with his son before he retires. Just my opinion.

I hope his wish is granted. Nothing but love for Larry. He deserves to finish his coaching career exactly how he wants to.

If this does occur. What does the asst pool look like? I still think this can get messy. No one coaches alone anymore. What teacher slots available? Who stays on ? How many assts will they have? Etc.,etc.,etc.........Knowing some folks in the admin, I have a hard time believing they will follow thru with excess# of coaches without the teaching slots. Sure they can go the para route, but I think things go smoother when the staff is in the building. Obviously, if they are getting a guy like Larry then these things have either been settled or "promised". I wouldnt turn my back on "promised".

I was told that SW would be willing to open somewhere around 2-3, maybe 4, teaching spots for assistant coaches. That came straight from the principal at SW according to my source. That was during the application process before Christmas break. They may have budged on that with French though.

She is a very nice lady. And very academic (nothing wrong with that). It would be nice to think athletics and academics work hand in hand. Not sure that will happen in this case.

His son Stephen was a Special Ed teacher at Junction City until about three years ago and he lost his job because of cuts with in the system, and if I'm not mistaken the same thing happened to Larry's wife last year she also taught for Boyle.
