I also agree with several of you. Coaches have been successful prior to, and after leaving Lincoln. Plus Lincoln's scores are very close this season. Would love to know what the issue is and see them get over the hump.

Just from observing games, seeing Boyle Co's sideline, there are people everywhere begging to help in any capacity. At a Lincoln game, they seem to be scrambling to find people. Plus the facilities when comparing the two are not even on the same planet. I know Boyle's tradition has led to a lot of that, but still. That's more what I was referring to by resources. This may be traced back to the administration, it may not.

I would think a little of everything. Money in the district that allows the surrounding counties to have more. I would imagine all of Boyle and Pulaski's assistants work in the building. More and more people moving out of Lincoln to the surrounding counties. All of these factors add up.

I would think the location could also be an issue. Being sandwiched between Danville and Somerset as they are constantly growing means teams like Boyle and Pulaski will have resources that Lincoln just won't. That being said, administrative support, at the central office level is a must to be successful.

Wasn't Lincoln Co. Schools in some hot water with the state recently? Does that have anything to do with it? Seems like state takeovers have a negative effect on football.

This one was much closer than the score indicates.

JV championships don't necessarily translate to varsity winning. French had a couple of good years, but that's it. There is some talent in Lincoln Co. just not enough at once to compete in 5a. Hopefully a few classes will come through soon and Lincoln can get back to the great teams of the past.

I think having one middle school team feeding a 5a school hurts them, especially number wise. There is no doubt that basketball has gotten better treatment also. This has led to even more of the better athletes in the school to not play football. Rumor is there are some good young players coming through the system. Hopefully things will turn around soon.

What does the coaching staff look like at Lincoln? Any new members?

Six of those games could go either way. Tough middle stretch. I also heard the numbers were thin. Injuries could end up being an issue.

I think Casey has gotten a lot better and Lincoln has had several injuries.

It's sad but I think that's the case in many schools.

What are the numbers looking like this year? Are there more coming out with the new coach in place?

With the updates, Commonwealth will be a lot smaller. Should help with the environment issue.
