I heard a handful of references to Gatorade during the broadcast and postgame show, an unnatural amount and it seemed awkward and shoehorned in at times. Like Millen saying Clemson was winning because they were drinking Gatorade.

Everyone assumes that Gatorade was developed at the University of Florida - hence the name. It was actually pioneered at Florida State University, but the marketing people said that there was no future for a sports drink called Seminole Fluid.
