Pretty cool if you ask me. I believe Dickie V lives in Sarasota so made the trip tonight. Also tweeted a pic of him and Joe Frederick.

What a great honor for the team to have their picture taken with him, and for his favorable remarks. Nice memory for the rest of their lives. :thumb:

He does live in Sarasota. He is a staple at Ed Smith Stadium during Spring Training. Saw him when I went down with WLW years ago.

No doubt! Does it get any better for 14-18 year old boys than to win a big tournament, in Florida, in front of Dick Vitale? Very cool!

I saw his tweets yesterday and couldn't help but think how awesome that is. Even if it is the Blue Colonels, having a legend such as Dickie V in attendance and giving your team props is something.

 

I'm willing to bet that before he went to the tournament he spent his morning at The Broken Egg in Bradenton.

I saw him walking on the beach in Siesta Key back in 2006 and talked to him about who UK would hire as a coach when Tubby left. He seemed to think Rick Barnes was going to get it. Nope !!! Billy G baby...and the rest was history. LOL

Great experience for these young men, something they will remember the rest of their lives.

Indeed it was cool and I am hoping that some of the parents post the many pictures they took of him enjoying the game.
