Jackson Davis with 28, including the game winning putback.

Newcath led by 11 at the half and Lafayette made one hell of a 4th quarter comeback.

Jackson Davis putback off own miss wins it.

Newcath turnover on final possession. Another tough loss for the Breds.

The second half breds aren't nearly as good as the first half breds.

Not knocking NewCath... but man ... if they just had a bench so they can rest a little they could've held on to this game. That is definitely their downside.

Seems to be a pattern against athletic teams that play pressure defense.

Glad you said it.

Glad you said it.

I call it like I see it.:idunno::walk:

Glad you said it.

I do think they are good enough to fix it and they have time to do so as well. KOB and this tournament should have provided them a ton of valuable experience which may come in very handy in March if they win the 9th.

Small school, just not deep enough. You can only get so much talent up there and they have 5 of the best players around. Young Moeves is a nice option off the bench as well.

How will they fix not having a bench? They're a great team, but having no bench to speak of will be the death of them. All the late game mistakes is just being downright ridiculously tired.

I'd love it if there was a fix, but I'm not seeing it except when they had a good lead they should've started slowing the tempo and forcing Lafayette into fouling them. Instead they started playing Lafayette's game and let them control tempo.

I got to the game thread late. Walter says you can't press NCC. Then someone said NCC couldn't handle Lafayette's pressure. Is that the case?

I'd disagree with Walter. I think you heat them up. The 3 bigs don't want to play that game. Not sure how strong with the ball Moeves is (literally not sure since I haven't watched him). They seem like a good candidate for the heat. Looks like it's 3 games now that they wilted under the heat. I guarantee you Coach Booher has taken notice of that.

NewCath best 1st half team in the state without challengers, however is a 2nd half and like today the folded like a tent.

What was that final play???? The guards with some really bad passing today, in both halves. Ben Weyer was on fire.

Congrats to Lafayette on a very nice comeback.

It's best that I comment no further, trust me.

The final 7 seconds looked a little confusing for NewCath. No idea why you have McDonald bringing the ball up the court in that situation.

I commented last year on Weyer. I'm a fan. I only saw a bit of last night's game but he made a really strong move across the lane late that is going to get him a lot of buckets in the 9th.

Big future for the kid.
