Sounds like it could be a great race in the 9th this year.

33rd - Overall, the best district in the region. Agree that Ryle is the team to beat. However, the other three have at least one D1 player (Ganns - BC, Dunn - Cooper, Ross - Conner) and other quality players to surround them.

34th - Dixie is probably the best team. Lloyd has a solid player in Molitor and St. Henry returns a few from a year ago.

35th - Beechwood and Cov Cath will battle it out for top dog.

36th - HHS and NC both lost quite a bit via graduation. However, HHS returns basically its entire pitching staff (all starting pitchers return). Teams would be wise not to look past Bellevue. They return basically everyone. They play a very solid schedule, so come post-season they will be tested and ready.

 

Overall, the region is very balanced. No clear cut favorite (although I agree Ryle is probably #1 for the time being). Many teams go into the year with a legitimate belief they can win the 9th.

I would have to say that looking at the top teams from last year, Beechwood and Dixie lost the least. As NKU states above Dixie only loses 3 seniors from last years roster (only one pitcher) and I do not believe Beechwood relied very heavily on the senior class last year. I know Ryle had a strong bunch of underclassmen but losing, what 14 seniors, you would think that they have to take a bit of a step back.

Haven't heard but congrats to him. First of many.

Beechwood, Dixie, Highlands and Ryle look to be the top teams returning from last year. I would have to say one of the dark horses would be Cooper. They are returning there pitching staff and I think they are a very underated hitting team if they are cut loose a little. I did hear that one of their main starters might not be playing, but they do have some young arms to make up for that. If what I hear is true, in which I feel it is, Dunn just needs to go up and challenge batters. I know he's been going through a program over in Cincinnati and his fastball was clocking 93mph with movement. He's a quiet kid but needs to step up for his team this year. I think he has sat back in the shadows over the years and let the upper classman do their thing. Not saying he didn't play hard! JMO!

The top of the region is loaded, but the depth this year seems to be horrible IMO

I work with his dad and I confirmed this morning that he was clocked as high as 93MPH. He is training at a place called Champions. He has been training up there with some guy named Mike. I guess we could call and see. I don't think he would lie.

That would be a very nice jump from July when this article says he "touches" 87. 87 is humming. 93 is almost unheard of in KY.

I know that in the summer he had a game he was that he was being clocked and he was hitting 90-91. I know this wasn't the whole game but that's dialing it up. His dad came to me the following week pretty excited about it. I do know a game against SK at Freedom, Cooper was clocking him in the 1st inning and 7th and he was 87-88 from the beginning of the game to the end. He's seems to have the stamina. I don't know if he would hit those numbers all time, but seems to be in the ballpark pretty frequently from what info I have and what you just said. I hope things work out for him. He is a great kid. He's been in here before and comes across as being very polite. I wish him the best and really want to see him have a great year and come out of his shell as an overall player.
