Spoke to some people in the know. They say it wasn't an option, he was pushed.

Not really.. No one wanted Stephens to begin with.

Recent? SWHS has lost 6 of the last 7 to Pulaski.

Does Jason Spencer, current Henry Co. coach and former SW assistant come back??

Needed to happen sooner, they were at time embarrassing to watch...not from effort but from the position the players were put in.

I was speaking more about Pulaski's runner up season this year.

Right Coach in place and right STAFF, and Sw could be challenging for the Finals year in and year out.

 

Hearing that it will be very hard for a coach to come in and bring any staff with him.

I traveled to Central when Henry Co played them this year. Spencer would not be a bad hire anywhere and I have heard word that he would return to Southwestern. Most of his coaches at Henry Co wouldn't move with him I wouldn't think, so he would keep the staff if SW likes them. He did well at Henry Co earning a home playoff game, just came up short against Corbin. It would be very smart to get him in Southwestern. It would be instant success IMO!

In his defense, Stephens did end up with the job as a replacement due to the Dale Anderson situation. But the administration could have made the move earlier than this year if they felt it necessary so apparently they were okay with him, at least for the short term.
