They have faced this BG team before. They(the John Hardin coaches)know what it takes to defeat them and almost did so last night. John Hardin prepared themselves all season long for last night's game, let it all hang out and almost pulled it out. Beating Madison Southern and Anderson County by 3 isn't going to get you ready for BG. Period. And how many freshman and sophomore starters are on defense for Pulaski County? How many players go both ways? You do understand this isn't middle school anymore don't you?

I didn't know what to expect from the game last night. Once they were up 27-0 I figured it was over. I was wrong. It has happened before. It will happen again. If I am wrong next week I'll admit it again. Underwear in a bunch? Hilarious. :lol: I say what I feel and mean what I say. If folks don't like it so be it. Pulaski County is not John Hardin and if they want me to put them in John Hardin's class then they better make it a competitive game next week. Until then I expect BG in a rout. Period.

Ill stay out of the trash talk and just say that every kid wearing Purple Saturday night knows what an opportunity they have in closing out the season, not 14 and 0 but 44 and 0. They also know that you cant take your foot off the gas (aka John Hardin). These two statements don't fare well for the Maroons.

 

My prediction is this: All the Maroons has heard is Fant. They will double him up (not smart) and leave room for Pillow and Blue to do their thing. They will be down 3 tds at half, make their adjustments then Fant will put a seal on Mr. Football in 2nd half.

 

Purples win 58 to 14. Again, just my opinion.

Congrats to both teams. Having the privaledge of having my team experience a State Championship game last year I hope both teams realize it's an opportunity that millions of kids never get to experience. Make sure you take time to step back and enjoy the entire week leading up to the game and the game itself. Both teams will leave it all out on the field

There's no way that Pulaski Co has played a team that had the mentality of the old Miami Hurricanes and the old Oakland Raiders combined (Blackman). There's no way that they have played a team with the raw speed that McCallie had. That was the fastest team BGHS has played in a long, long time. BGHS played Lexington Catholic, a team with a bunch of raw talent (by the way, congrats to Highlands for beating a fine team like that...good job!). NO public school can say that they went to Brother Thomas More Stadium and beat the St Xavier Tigers TWICE in three years. The Purples can play bombs away or they can let the air out of the ball like they did against McCallie. Kick to Fant? How about a knife for your throat while you're at it? Physical play? I'd say that, against Blackman, St Xavier, and Lexington Catholic, proves BGHS's case that they can do that too. In my humble opinion, Devin Hayes is the best pure dropback passer in the state. However, if your defense gives it to him, he'll rip off a big run as well. Fant does not have the longest catch for the Purples this year...RB Blue Tisdale does. Fant has had his share of late game heroics, but so has RB Blake Pillow...ask JH (74 yd hook and ladder last year, one yd dive at 0:35 last night).

 

I think that I've made my point. But I do hope that Pulaski Co comes here and makes it a memorable experience, and that their fans come and have a great time at the game! People who know me know that this is a sincere wish for Team Maroon. However, this is a very special group of seniors for Purple Nation, and I don't predict scores, but the Purples win. Their character makes them find a way.

That Highlands team is different than this BG team and I still maintain that Pulaski County likely hasn't seen a team like this BG team in the history of their school. Played Highlands a couple of years ago and had a couple of seasons where the only losses were to Boyle during their title runs. That said they did lose all of those games but they have played some top teams over the last several years.
