Why the "TC" gloves?

How is playing all the Lexington schools and Madison Central a negative? Not every team can go state to state playing on ESPN. Did they duck competition that I'm not aware of?

I really like what's going in Scott Co. Football. Hell they may even be the best overall team in the State this year. Congrats Cardinals!!!

 

I still say they can get much more Respect both local & Nationally if they would Beef up their Schedule with the Top in state teams & a few out of state powers. From the looks of this year's team Scott co sure looks like they can hold their own with the best of them!!!

I called out Scott County and McKee's scheduing early on and I stand by it. As far as how good or bad Scott County was, I certainly had my doubts, but mostly my opinion was given their weak schedule we really didn't know. I am more suprised they made it this far than I would have been if they would have been beat.

Scott Co got a certain level of respect all year, so I don't know where the OP is coming from. Plenty of people had their doubts, me included, because of a below average schedule, but none of us ever thought of Scott Co as undeserving of being in the conversation as a contender. They dispatched most of the teams they played with ease, but questions remained again based on a schedule that many didn't feel "tested" them. Can't get upset over a team being questioned because of what many believe was a sub-par schedule. There have been many many teams over the years that come in with a gaudy record only to be sent home rather harshly because their record really didn't reflect their true on field value. So far Scott Co. has gone against that grain. Good for them.

As for scheduling, a lot of the teams they beat bad were young this year, so next year when those kids have a year or so under their belt of varsity play and Scott Co. is trying to reload from graduation it may not be the same. I think the schedule is fine.

First bolded, that may be very true, I don't know. If so then yes, many of those teams will probably be better next year. But to say the Scott Co schedule is "fine"? Well, I guess that depends on one's prospective and their definition of "fine". I would not consider a schedule where the teams are a combined 31-67 (according to KHSAA website) with only one team with a winning record "fine" for a contending team like Scott Co. But, as I said earlier they have been able to overcome a weak schedule, beat good teams when it counted and made believers of many. In the end that's all that matters. But, personally I think a schedule against stiffer comp helps prepare in the end, and thats shown to be the case in the past much more so than not.

Doubt it. All we'll see is McKee puff out his chest and proudly proclaim himself the saviour of all public schools. He'll then continue to pad his schedule.

Well they were in the title game two years ago and the semis last year, and you see the dreadful schedule they played this year. I see nothing that would lead me to believe that their schedule would be any better next year other than attrition. By attrition I mean, if they played a lot of the same teams next year, some of those teams might be a little better simply because many of them were so bad this year.
