With that said, I love watching Oregon....I love watching the spread teams, but there is just something about 'grown man football'.

Totally disagree the door for OSU officially opened half way.

 

I'm just guessing, but I suspect Stanford moves ahead of Ohio State in the people polls this week. I wouldn't be surprised if Baylor did, too. And if they don't do it this week, but keep winning, I think they'll both eventually go ahead of the Buckeyes. Right or wrong, I think the voters will view both Stanford and Baylor as superior to Ohio State.

To the Highlands fans who watched this game ... any flashbacks to the Warren Central game? Stanford just totally dominated that game and then let the Ducks get within one score and put a bit of a scare into Stanford.

If Florida State or Bama were to lose, it would not be shocking to see an unbeaten Baylor team there at the end. BUT, I do believe an unbeaten Ohio State team gets in over a 1 loss Stanford team.

Half way to what? Not playing in the final game. What wins would the Buckeyes use as evidence that they are deserving of the big game?

 

Just wait and see if one more thing happens the door is fully open. OSU really hasn't beaten anyone spectacular but will have 3 top 25 wins this year and have never lost since Urbans arrival, if they are to make it to the title game, still have to win out for all this to hold up.

Actually, I thought that Stanford would win, Oregon through the last several years has trouble with teams, (any team) that lines up and just punches them in the mouth. Stanford was no secret, they ran the football right down the Ducks throat, Oregon knew exactly where they were going and could not stop it! Once again, the Ducks cannot play physical football. IMO the most overrated program every year.

I don't really think that it will happen but LSU has imo the best chance of anyone to beat Alabama.

As I stated on another thread after the last BCS rankings, imo Bama, Fla. State and Ohio State are the top three teams in the country. Baylor will jump after last nights W, Ohio State imo could not have a worse week to be off. Not playing this weekend after the Stanford win over the overblown fighting Nike's will hurt them I'm afraid.

At the start of the season I picked Stanford vs. Ohio State in the national championship and although that won't happen now, with another upset of Bama or FSU I think OSU could / should be in.

Northwestern is 0-5 in the B1G. If you're counting that as a quality win, I'm even more confident that Stanford will pass them in the BCS standings.

It appears there was a fairly significant gap in the BCS standings between the top three and Ohio State and then another fairly significant gap between Ohio State and Stanford. Have to imagine that the gap between OSU and Stanford is going to get a bit narrower.

 

If Stanford wins out, they'll add wins against USC, Cal, Notre Dame and likely Arizona State or UCLA in the conference title game.

 

If Ohio State wins out, they'll add wins against Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and likely Michigan State in the conference title game.

 

The way I'm looking at this, it's hard for me to imagine that Ohio State doesn't get passed.

While, I think they jump them outright, if your scenario does hold true....

 

Stanford still has @ 6-3 USC, vs. 1-8 Cal (who Ohio State also played), vs. #23 7-2 Notre Dame, and the PAC12 title game against either ranked UCLA, ranked Arizona State, or ranked (if they make the title game) Arizona.

 

Ohio State has @ 3-5 Illinois, vs. 3-5 Indiana, @ 6-2 Michigan, and the B1G title game against ranked Michigan State.

 

I clearly think Stanford deserves to be ranked ahead of them, but just from looking at the remaining schedule (not to mention the schedule they've both already played), it seems apparent that the Cardinal play a much tougher final stretch than the Buckeyes.
