Coach Fired Because Fiance Grabbed Her Breast

Featured Replies

You know how you can tell it's not a local story??? It wasn't a student holding her in that photo.

Not really a smart thing to post on a public Facebook page when you are a coach to young children but I don't think she should have been fired for it.

So the Fiance is also a coach at the school for the Football team. He has won 10 state championship since 1982 but he wasn't fired?

The photo featured her in a bikini in front of a large body of water with boyfriend and Pocatello football coach Tom Harrison holding Cook's right breast with his left hand. The shot was reportedly taken on a recent vacation. (An unidentified person is also seen in the background of the photo.)

Harrison, who has won 10 state championships since 1982 and was inducted into the Idaho High School Football Hall of Fame back in 2000, told the Idaho State Journal "I would like to help you, but I can't at this time. It's a sad deal."

And that's what gets me. It's not necessarily whether her firing was justified or not, but that there seems to be two different sets of criteria being used here. I mean, she's fired for being the "object" of the picture...but, he's not, even when he's the "offender" in the act that's being deemed offensive? Either you fire them both...or you keep them both. If there's any scenario where just one of them should have been fired, it seems to me it would've had to have been him.

May have to do with her showing poor judgement by posting the picture but more likely the 10 championships. Can't see how they don't get sued.

This story is like the story where the unmarried Catholic school teachers were having sex but only the female was fired.

Once heard a coach say "Son you can go 0-10 or you can hanky panky around at the school, but you can't do both at the same time" ..........

Do they both teach in the system or was she just the interim basketball coach? Saw where she said she was told it was because she was the one who posted it. Those issues could determine if she would be successful in a suit.

How is the grabee fired but not the grabber? :lol2:

I still don't think it's anything to get fired over but if she gets fired, Im' not sure how he survived.

Do schools normally have policies about the use of social media?
