Yes, I think everyone is hearing the word "diversity" and automatically assuming they're talking about Obama's race. I think it has more, or at least partly, to do with making fun of people with psychiatric disabilities.

I would have considered that except that mental illness costumes were not part of the costumes that were asked to be refrained from. That leads one to believe that it is another issue.
