I heard from a couple friends that Bellevue, Dayton, and Newport were going to combine into one big school, on Newports campus and be called "Campbell County North"....not sure if this is accurate, I was just wondering if any of you have heard anything similar to this or whether or not you can confirm this?

Would probably be a good thing for all three, but I don't think this will happen.

We sure did. I think its a good idea. All three schools need work why not make one big problem to fix instead of 3 different problems. will the current Newport location hold all students? Not very much room to expand there.

There is TONS of room to expand down there.....

I agree. Plenty of room to expand down there. The outdoor basketball courts and tennis courts could be a starting spot.

Are Dayton and Bellevue better academically than Newport? Do they have more to lose joining Newport?

Consolidation makes sense.

 

The first thing that needs to happen in Campbell Co is the absorption of Silver Grove Schools into the county system. Then you can discuss the rest of the county.

This should have been done YEARS AGO!!

I don't think this will ever happen. Independent school districts have no incentive to combine. And given the three cities involved I really don't think this will ever happen.

Newport: Not in the top 15...

is it really up to the schools though? i always though city and county officials had the voice in whether something like this would happen. im probably wrong but that is just what i always assumed.
