October 4, 201312 yr I know that Votto is in the early part of his contract, but I think he needs to show a lot more considering the paycheck he's getting. He needs to hit the ball a lot more than what he did over the season for that kind of pay; jmo. All the walks do not mean much of anything, unless you have wheels like Billy Hamilton. October 4, 201312 yr Author No one is worth that much, so clearly no. While I clearly agree; I'm thinking even if the contract wasn't substantially bigger. The money that they have tied up in him worries me about other talent on the team along with future talent.

October 5, 201312 yr He's a 9-1 hitter. When the Reds are up 9-1 he kills the ball. Bring him up with RISP down 3-2 in any inning and he's a can of corn or a strikeout. He made me so mad so many times this season.
