From reading elsewhere, the problem in Logan County is that they are not allowed to run a middle school program by the administrators there. Logan County was consolidated from 5 high schools, none of which played football, and all still exist as K-8 schools. Apparently they're concerned about affecting the identity of the individual schools. It makes them terribly unprepared when they hit the high school level.

In some ways that may be true but it isn't Logan County's fault they are in BG's district. It is Logan County's fault that they have never defeated BG.

I don't understand the "administrators" deciding that having a middle school football team "affects the identity of the school". Aren't schools generally known for the football teams (good or bad) and are generally a real source of pride that those players take on to the high school level?

In today's day and age, if you do not run a middle school football program you are going to get kids hurt when they begin playing as freshman. Yes, it is Logan County's fault they are not more competitive.

Plain ignorant that they don't have a middle school program but play varsity ball.

I can assure you that if the above is true, that Logan County has more problems than that.

At least the last 5 years. Logan doesnt have a middle school, but the elementary schools combine to make a middle school team.

As soon as they submit their win loss form for the state playoffs I can let you know. (if they do, they may not play.)

I can only state this on September 26, 2013 south warren middle school defeated Logan county 7th grade 35 - 0 and SWMS 8th grade won 40-8. So some information is wrong they do have a middle school program.
