But it just wasn’t my best year this year offensively. And it was by far my worst year defensively. I felt like I made a lot of mistakes. I’ve got to do some learning and do a lot of work in the offseason to try to make the improvement I can to be a better ballplayer, so we can be a better team.”

I think the medical staff sucks just as bad as Dusty. Let me add to that if he is perfectly fine health wise and his knee can't get better uh oh on that already terrible contract.
October 2, 201312 yr I went back and reread the whole Ludwick calls out the fans thing, and I kind of get it. My question is will he now call out his teammates for their obvious lack of passion and heart? Do we really wonder why the fans are the way they are here? Oh, and I do believe the manager plays a key role in at least the effort put out on the field, of which we saw very little.

The article also mentioned that he spent almost all of last offseason getting his knee healthy, and didn't get to do his typical offseason work to prepare for the coming season. This could also explain the drop off.

Easy with the drive in 100 -- the stars aligned for him with the NL #1 and NL #2 in OBP batting in front of him. The number is what it is, I get that, but I believe baseball people realize things were in his favor this year. His 3 ribbies in September will probably also get a lot of attention. Booting a textbook 4-6-3 last night did, in fact, help to change the game. Dude is owed $50 million over the next 4 years, isn't well liked and is respected even less. I hope and pray they find a dance partner, but my hunch is they'll have to eat a portion of that contract to do it.

Cozart, Jersey, the two catchers, and the debacle in LF, not to mention no clean up hitter and an AWFUL bench....that is constructed to win the World Series? They have 5 of the same RH hitting white guy, with no speed and a little pop, who'll hit you .235-.250. Ludwick, Heisey, Frazier, Cozart, and the two catchers....oops, sorry, 6 of the same dude. They have a plus-plus pitching staff, but ironically last night, the bell cow for that group came up as small as possible. I think the roster was just okay, to be honest, and I think 90 wins (plus given the injuries to several key people) was pretty good. I know this....we'll long for 85 wins this time next year.
