All I can say about Cooper is boys beat them this year because you aren't beating them next year. I was very impressed with Cooper. They could have easily won this game. Feel really bad for the young man who dropped the TD pass right in his hands at the end of the game which could have tied it.

 

Really happy for the whole Scott community. I have never seen so many smiles on the faces of the Eagle faithful leaving the stadium at the end of a varsity football game.

That was some horrible officiating. Word on the streets is now the refs are invited to the Homecoming Dance. Lol. Ridiculous job by that crew.

 

What was bad about the officiating. Pretty sure Scott had more penalties called on them, a couple of which were real backbreakers (but legitimate). Unless you are referring to the "fumble" by Scott. Osborne's forward progress was clearly stopped and he was being pushed backward. I'd also say the ref's ignored some chippy play by Cooper.

No lock on that home game yet. Still will need to win at least one, but probably two more district games. They should beat Grant County. This district is a complete toss up.....4 teams could all wind up 2-2

No question at all that was not a fumble. The refs got that right. I thought Cooper displayed very good sportsmanship. I can't remember ever seeing a team help another teams players up as much as Cooper did Scott tonight. Their was a little incident at the end of the game but it was just frustration for losing the game. Poor decision by the Cooper player but not an overall reflection of the Cooper teams sportsmanship.

I think Scott is the front runner in their district!

Just got home from the game. Castleman is the real deal! The kid is a gamer and is as hard nosed as they come. I wanted to see the Crimm kid play also. He definitely looks the part but was not impressed with his effort at all. He takes way to many plays off. Congrats to the Eagles on their biggest win in school history!!!

First off Congrats Scott on a very well played game.

The officiating did not take away from how youu all played tonight.

 

With that said, as i posted during the game thread here is what was so bad about the officiating. The worst officiating I've seen.

2 fumbles by Scott, first one Cooper recovered, the ref called the play dead and gave bball back to Scott. 2 plays later Scott fumbled again and recovered the ball 7 yards bbehind the line of scrimmage, in the words of the ref..."It was a ffumble but I blew the whistle when he fumbled and since scott recovered I gave them the ball where I blew the whistle" Which was 1 yard from first down marker.

 

Final drive of the game, then it got really good. First a WR for Cooper was tackled in the endzone before the ball got to him....no PI called.

Fussinger catches his 2nd TD of the game on final drive, got both feet down 6 inches ffrom the endline, beautiful catch and toe tap for a TD, 2 Refs standing right there loook at eachother wanting the other to make the call, neither one seen it apparently and called him out of bounds. It was horrible, worst case scenerio it should of been a tie game but Cooper probably goes for 2 to win the game. All that and not even talked about the horrible Intentional grounding they didn't call, Scott's QB scramblingg for a 25 yard loss and about to get sacked and throws the ball that lands 5 yards behind the line of scrimmage , no call, instead because it was toward a oo-lineman they called ineligble reciever and only a 5 yard penalty from line of scrimmmage. Plus there was a brand new rule I never new of, they tthrew a flag on Cooper D-lineman when he made a tackle on 3rd ddown short of the first down by tackling the runner by pulling him down from the FRONT of the jersey and the ref callled a horse collar on the play....what made it even funnier is the ref even demonsttrated pulling him down from the front of his jersey lol.....first down.

 

Like I said, nothing against Scott, it's pretty neat to see them doing good this year, it was just about the officiating which no matter what Cooper did they weren't gonna ggive them a chance in this one which was sad.

I believe they're legit, they lock a first round home playoff game for the first time in school history. Congrats to the Eagles.

Congrats Scott, but how do you figure they clinched a home playoff game? you do knnow overall record has nothing to do with home games in playoffs right? It is all district games that count. To ensure a home playoff game you will need to be the #1 or #2 seed. Remember Cooper had beest record in the district last year with 9-1 record but never had ahome playoff game.

 

You will need to beat So. Oldham and Conner along with Grant Co. to garuntee a home game.

I do think Scott needs to throw the ball more. Just giving you a hard time. I couldn't believe Scott didn't throw the ball more with Cooper having all of their kids within 7yds of the line of scrimmage..If Scott doesn't get some sort of a passing game it is going to come back to haunt them..
