6 is what I seen that Beal had. Beal had 215 yards on just 9 attempts. Had touchdown runs of 43, 25, 45, 2, 58, 38. Holy Cross had 433 yards of total offense, 414 was on the ground on 33 attempts.

Thanks for putting up the link to the box score and play by play for me! Yes, Beal had 6 rushing TDs, 4 in the first quarter. Technically 408 yards on the ground on 35 attempts (HC lost 8 yards on the last 2 plays of the game), but no big deal.

I thought the Mustangs played with a big heart having just 20+ players. They followed through to the end of the game, evidence being the block of an extra point late in the game and the 45 yard run by Pelgen...good effort!

And Beal had two TDs called back - 86 yards, and 54 yards

Jalen much too quick for our secondary. We were unable to keep him in front of us, resulting in foot races where we were ill-equipt to challenge.

On most of his touchdowns he could have run to Independence and we would not have caught him.

Will have to call Rent-A-Kid to get that kind of speed duplication to practice against.

Congratulations to him, but he must have thought that Christmas came early tonight after going against more talented defenses for the first four games of the season.

Tough one for the Stangs! Holy Cross had only put up 34 points this year, while giving up 185, before tonight. Brossart has 9 seniors listed on their roster, with only 2 juniors and 7 sophomores, along with 3 freshmen. With numbers like this, it will make it hard for them to turn the corner with their program for some time.

With the numbers you've posted, the question would appear to be regarding the survival of the program vs. turning it around. What is the prospect for an increase in numbers and the how is the support amongst the Mustang faithful for continuing the program? The apparent move back to single A should help but how do they get more kids in the program?

I heard they only have about 5 or so 8th graders on the middle school team. Losing 9 seniors and gaining approximately 5 results in worse numbers than this year. The program is on life support.

About the only hope is for them to land back in 1A where they can compete with low numbers in the 20s. Right now they are in a tough spot as they have to find non-district games in which they can compete and then get thrashed once the 2A schedule starts. That leads to low interest and low numbers. Plus Soccer is the dominant Fall sport at the school so it is not easy to turn the numbers around.
