September 26, 201312 yr Votto .272 in September. 10 RBI in 23 games. Way to step up... What's his OBP for the month? Choo is hitting .286 for the year. Hamilton .389 during his short tour. No other Red has a batting average over Votto's .272 (.304 for the year) So he has sucked so bad in September, yet that number exceeds all but 1 full time player? I don't understand the lack of love for the man. I guess it goes back to what he is making versus his expected performance. The whole offense is to blame!

The only knock you can truly have on Votto this year is his decline in knocking in runs. While it seems like he has had fewer chances because there aren't as many guys on base in front of him he really has declined in that area.

I couldn't find BA RISP but I did see on baseball-reference that this was his worst year knocking in runs with runners on base (not necessarily RISP). You can attribute that to his power numbers being down.
