...and I will be on a plane headed for Rome. Can't wait to get there, just wish I could skip the travel part. The only negative is we will only have about 3 days of site seeing. We will get there on Sunday afternoon but at that point we will have been traveling for about 20 1/2 hours, either on planes or in airports. Probably not going to be doing too much Sunday when we get there.

Enjoy your trip, sans the flights. I'm sure it will be worth it. Hoping for good weather for you.

I hope you have a great time! Rome (and the Vatican) is my dream trip, which I'm hoping to see come true in 2015.

How exciting! Hope you have a great trip!

After several suggestions to do so, I booked a guided tour today of Vatican City. Everything else I think we are just going to take off walking in the morning and see what we can. Our hotel is less then a mile from the Colosseum and also from the Pantheon. We will hit the Colosseum and everything around it day one, the Pantheon and surrounding area on day two, then do the Vatican tour our last day. I really wish we had more time but this whole trip was kind of last minute so we have limited time. On Thursday morning we fly to Germany for our second part of the trip.

Have a great trip! I've never been, but parents have been a couple of times (dad said to watch out for the pick-pocketing street urchins). Son went when he was studying abroad in Leeds (England); we bought him a month-long EuroRail pass and he traveled all over. Daughter got to go as part of a choir trip, saw the Pope, all the sights in Rome as well as several other cities. Son and daughter would go back in a heartbeat.

My parents just took a trip to Italy & they loved it. I have heard that Italy, particularly Rome, is very high risk in terms of getting robbed/ pick pocketed. In fact, my mom had her wallet stolen on the subway (or whatever they call it) leaving the Vatican. She had no idea...didn't feel a thing.

Other than that, have a great trip! Sounds like an awesome time.

That kind of sentence just always makes me giggle. I am not proud of it.

Awesome!! Have fun. I'm jealous.

At least it was just one.

I am super jealous! Have a safe, and fun, trip!

^ This...me too...hope you have a great time!

I'm going on a little trip of my own today. Headed down to Tuscaloosa after work to see the Alabama/Colorado State football game on Saturday! Mr. lawildcat scored us 2 seats in a sky box along with a parking pass from a guy he's doing business with. We must be crazy to drive all the way to Alabama for a football game! I guess we'll fit right in though. LOL Oh well, I can't wait! Roll Tide!

Ditto on all the well-wishers and the jealous ones as well. Count me among them.

My parents did Rome, the Vatican and Florence last year. Had a great time.

Can't wait to get over there some day.
