I am a guy who likes helmet logos, particularly ones that break from the mundane. I've seen enough adaptations of college and pro logos for one lifetime, give me something different.

 

For example I have always like Danville's anchor and rope logo, and of course, Belfry's skull and bones.

 

Trinity's logo is unique and I like it too. Loyalty, Pride, Discipline, Achievement. What's not to like?

 

I'd like to hear more about the logo and it's origin. I see the shamrock and the green T. I'm not sure what the other design is that is a pencil line within the shamrock around the base of the T. Is it significant in some way? If you know anything about this logo, please share.

 

 

In addition to Trinity, if your school has a unique helmet logo, or an interesting story about your helmet logo, please post a pic and share the story. I'd love to hear it.

I believe it is the hand of God wrapped around the Shamrock. If you look closely you can tell it's a thumb

Still, I like the idea of creating your own logo, rather than recycling ones that are already being used in colleges and pro's.

I strongly disagree. This logo reflects internally instead of externally. The players wear it to represent and remind them of the qualities they want to embody. They know what it means even if 80% of the rest of the world doesn't. At least that is what I get out of it. I think it is a breath of fresh air and a great statement.

Though they are certainly not "unique" I also would rank Highlands and their Big "H" near the top as well as Tates Creek. Both are timeless and traditional. I also like Ashland's though it is a play off the Arizona "A". Putting bias aside I think Danville is my All-Time favorite, just edging out Belfry.

I like all of that and I like having your own logo. I like everything about their logo except I had no clue that was a hand and can still barely see that is what it is after reading what it is. Nitpicky perhaps by me.

I agree. I don't know what it is supposed to be and doesn't look good at all. Sorry but the first thing I thought of was a mushroom growing out of a pile of poop.

I don't like Rockcastle's logo though. It just doesn't grab me.

 

I like Harlan County's bear paw though, well really the whole Black Bear mascot idea. Pretty neat. That paw on the helmet with those claws on it, I dig it.

I think that is awesome, but the fact being the meaning and what you see when you frist look at it are 2 different things. It looks too busy plus the fact you really can't make out what it is supposed to be unless you are told what it is.

I think a thread about "The Best Jersey" would be fun... to me my taste for that would be simple, timeless, and full of tradition. I am sure some people like the new styles, color combos, and matte helmets... but I still like the teams who you know exactly who it is... and get a mental picture of the program and its history.. just by seeing a glimpse of the uniform.

 

If I say "Highlands Bluebirds" you picture a QB standing tall looking to deliver a strike downfield with a blue jersey, symbolic helmet, and white pants with a blue stripe.

 

If I say "Belfry Pirates" you see the red and white jersey with "BELFRY" in bold letters across the front of a Lineman... the helmet with the skull and crssbones with numerous helmet stickers and scuff marks from grinding someone into submission with the option offense.

 

To me.. that is what makes a great, iconic jersey
