Best Point Guard in KY

Featured Replies

Doesn't Holbrook play the point at CC? I would consider him ahead of some of the others mentioned. I look for him to have a solid year.

One's I've seen play:

Russell (highlight videos, Montverde game on ESPN)

Bolden (v. Madison Central, 2013)

Beverly (multiple times: in Sweet 16 as 7th/8th grader, v. Clay County @ WYMT, etc.)

McDaniel (v. KCC @ Rupp, v. Tates Creek as 8th grader)

Pangallo (highlight videos only... not as much in game as others)

He will be the 2 guard for the Camels this year. He should have a very good year.

Impressive list, good job throwing this together.

Sat will be a great experience for all those involved. A lot of talent in the gym and great exposure, as I'll be getting video as well.

Hope to get some of the other kids listed in this thread in the gym soon. Von Handorf of Covcath was supposed to be there too, but with Covcath taking on Moeller he won't be able to make it.

Is this an open gym or invite only? 27 kids possibly coming is a lot.

Invite only...the place I'm using has 2 courts and I'm going to use a 12 min running clock so everyone will get plenty of run.

I know Cam has evolved into more of a 2G, but Cam Justice is still a great PG whether or not he plays there more than he does the two spot. I watched him start as an 8th grader and he was amazing as a pure point guard then. I believe Justice is a great talent no matter what guard position he is playing, if he was a PG 100% of the time he would be one of the best in the state hands down.

I heard the kid at Cordia is pretty solid.

You've probably seen him play more times than I have, but in my opinion Justice may be able to play some pg in high school but I don't think it will ever happen at the next level. He's not quick enough and there's always going to be better ball handlers than him, not that he's a poor dribbler or anything. Just that at the college level, and I assume we're talking D-1 here, there will be someone better than him at that position. I mean, the small guard from Cordia gave him fits last year. He is destined to be a 2 guard.

Most of the times I watched him play was when he was younger and he was playing PG. Only seen him a few times last couple of seasons and that is on tv and not in person. He was a heck of a pg when he was a frosh, I only figured that progression would continue. As far as young talent goes the only young PG I had saw who was better at the same age was Elisha Justice, and to be honest they were both at about the same level really, not sure if Elisha was that much better.
