Didn't expect this one to be this close...did you guys in WKY expect this or was this kind of a shock for you too. I had read that several of the top players that could have went to MC transferred to PT this summer and that the cupboard was pretty bare.

That was just a rumor...many were picking the Mustangs to win this one.

The cupboard is not bare at all at McCracken. The running back from Lone Oak that went to PT was a none factor in the game a(1 short TD run). There was a lot of penalties. A player from each team was kicked out of the game. I thought the game would be a close because of what both teams bring to the table.

 

I thought the play calling for McCracken was terrible. The refs couldn't keep MC coaches off the field either but they didn't seem to want to do anything to stop it.

I thought this would be a close game and PT would win. Both will be hard to handle.

The officiating was a total embarrassment. Whoever assigned that crew sent lambs to the slaughter. Totally overmatched. The game was very exciting. And a close game is not what was being predicted by most of the experts I saw. Tilghman was expected to roll, but this never made sense to me. Jack Haskins is one hell of a football coach and he has a 2,000 student pool to draw from now. Tilghman looked very good also. Hughes looked like he wore down in the second half to me. Maybe too much is being asked of him as a sophomore and Evan Sayner who has signed with WKU got ejected early. This was 2 very evenly matched teams and the beginning of what will be a huge rivalry for years to come.

This could become a bitter rivalry real quick. a lot of trash talking leading up to the game on twitter by both schools.

 

Not surprised that PT won.

One other thing. The kicker for McCracken missed 2 extra points. I don't understand how that happens in that big of a school although I guess it happens in college sometimes. McCracken never really adjusted to Tilghman's blitzes in the 2nd half although they did hit on a few long passes. Great game.
