Quote from Tilghman coach Randy Wyatt (Paducah Sun)

“I’m so glad this soap opera’s over, I don’t know what to do,” Wyatt said. “If I had my choice, and no disrespect, I wouldn’t want to play this game again after next year

(when the series goes to Tilghman). It’s too much, there’s too much that goes on.”

Wyatt has been quite candid regarding his disdain for the hype surrounding playing the new county school, and said the monetary rewards of big gates and charged atmospheres

wasn’t worth the drama.

“I know there’s a lot of heat between McCracken County and city,” Wyatt said. “They got a great thing going over there. But the thing is, we are Tilghman. And we’ve been here 100

years, and we aren’t going anywhere.”

I saw this in the Paducah Sun this morning. If I'm Wyatt I probably don't want to play that game anymore either. He already can't beat Mayfield and after seeing what kind of battle McCracken put up in the first year he likely realizes McCracken is going to be a tall mountain to climb in the future also. They will play every year though because the crowds and money will be too big to pass up.

As long as Haskins is at MC Wyatt has nothing to worry about. Haskins and his whole staff act like a bunch of clowns on the side lines instead of figuring out how to beat the other team.

He is very outspoken on a lot of things. I think he does it to just add to the hype of the game. Too big of a gate for them not to play this one.

I was in Paducah this past week for work, stopped by and viewed the sports complex at the new high school while there. Very nice, similar maybe to Scott High, though maybe not quite as grandiose. Anyway, was talking to one of my buddies while down there Wednesday night, and I made this exact statement..."it was a mistake for MC to schedule PT for their first ever home game, because they could very well get beat". And low and behold, it's exactly what happened. Who wants to open their new stadium at a brand new school with a loss? I said they should have scheduled a Ballard Memorial, Hopkins Central, Webster Co...somebody they know they would have beaten and probably beaten handily. Hey, I'm all about a tough schedule, but lets open things up with a big win and then go from there. But, if nothing else it sounds like it was a very exciting game.

Both these teams are very good, imo. Tilghman is as deep and athletic as I've seen them in years and there DL and LBs are exceptional. They were in the Mustang backfield all night long, especially Overstreet. PTs QB is an accurate passer and has lots of weapons, especially Coleman and Spivey-Nunn. Those guys are big time playmakers. I think PT will make a serious run in 3a this year and give Central all they want. McCracken Co will be fine and only get better by testing themselves with games like these. They also have a lot of athleticism. Rasheed Jones is a legit college prospect and Hughes at QB, is dangerous with his legs especially and they have some WRs that can go up and get the ball. They also have really good size in the trenches and are pretty athletic and quick to boot. They'll be really tough once they get 5-6 games under there belts and everyone gets comfortable in there roles.

I may be wrong but I think that is the week that PT played Lone Oak last year so it fit in the schedule

I didn't realize McCracken County had 1900 students.

This is why

No reason in the world for Mc to not win this one other than messing up my picks

Don't forget about the TD called back with 4 minutes to go

there were 2 flags on that play. It was not only a hold but a blatant block in the back that sprung the runner. It was one of the better calls of the evening from a totally outmatched officiating crew who looked incompetent at times the whole evening.

MC coach would not give a full interview to the news paper and wouldn't shake hands after the game.

Not surprising from stories I've heard over the years with similar things
