I think that the rankings look pretty good. Raceland, imo could possibly be down a notch or two (possibly 5th,6th). Another poster stated that Fairview may be ranked high bc of their success last season and kids lost to graduation. I would agree if not for being from this area and hearing of the new arrivals from their what now is (in fun) known in this area as the Fairview prep/tri state academy. I couldn't put Fairview any higher than #3 due to the obvious fact that Mayfield and/or Beechwood own 1A untill someone beats them.

Fairview looks much better overall team-wise than last year.

Hazard beat the snakesnot out of Mayfield in 2011 so 1A ownership is not so set in stone anymore IMHO

Oh yes, Hazard resting on that 2011 championship. If dusting off the history books, you realize that comes a year after Hazard became an afterthought by halftime in 2010. Just foolin with ya 30dad.

After watching the hazard and Whitley scrimmage and relating back to last years team this years team is more physical than last years team and I seen more emotions..

We can give Hazard it's due, they took advantage of an injuried Jackson and Scott. But to win 1A you have to beat Mayfield or Beechwood, the road goes there.

Hazard and Frankfort are perennial top 5 1A teams so it wouldn't surprise me at all to see both of them move up the ranks to their usual top 5 slot. If I had to choose a team that is ranked too low, it would be Frankfort more so than Hazard. The other team I think may move up the ranks is Bellevue. I see them working their way into the top 10.

I agree I think Bellevue will break into the top 10. I also agree hazard n Frankfort will climb the rankings.. Next week hazard will square off with pikeville and a couple weeks they will play fairview.

I guess it matters to some but I believe it comes down to two teams this season , Mayfield and Beechwood. You can put slide teams in and out all season but come playoff time its just these two teams that I believe will win the title. Mayfield could get off to a bad start with the schedule they have and fall way down the list while some team with a cupcake schedule could be a paper tiger. Mayfield will not hold the top spot if they lose a couple of games out of the chute (which could happen) but I believe they and Beechwood are the top teams and are way ahead of the other teams.
