Let's say Drew Barker lights up BW. Does that by itself tell me anything about BW? No. I'd have to have a bunch of questions answered. Did they have everyone healthy? Did they have new guys playing D? What positions? Did they run a base set? Did they scout Conner? Did they play their best 11 or did they run a bunch of guys in to see who can play?

 

Way too many questions. Score is 100% irrelevant unless both coaches say before the game that they're playing to win , everyone is healthy, and they are using the full playbook.

 

Just like any real game, the score by itself doesn't tell the whole story. Those questions you list are almost all questions you would ask about a real game.

The only thing that really can skew the results in a scrimmage is how much experimenting the coach does with players.

I agree somewhat but if you can start to answer any of those questions you are getting results. IMO that is the basis for a quality scrimmage.

You know. When I posted that I even thought "I hope that doesn't get taken the wrong way." I TRULY meant it to show that there is no scouting going on like a regular season game so there is no specific gameplan being put in.

 

Nothing more than that.

 

For the record, scouting an opponent for a scrimmage , if done by any team, doesn't bother me in the least. Gots no problem with it.

Come on TP ... I have already told you guys that we have upped our game this year. No more driving ... we have shifted our final remaining resources to purchase a 747 ... which we will land in Paducah (we circled the War Memorial last year ... looking for a place to land ... destroyed the visitors bleachers, scoreboard, etc ... so we had to think creatively).

 

Now ... if you want to pick up all 20 of our coaches from there ... we may take you up on that offer!

I believe start time is now 7 pm.

 

You are correct. The start time for the scrimmage is now set at 7 pm.

 

I also will say again that I recommend getting there before start time. Scrimmages can start whenever the coaches and teams are ready and willing.

Game will broadcasted starting at 630 pm on ConnerCougarFootball.com and also on Ihigh.com/connercougars. I believe Aaron Stamm, Terry Barker, and Chet Gambrel will be in the booth calling the game.
