I'm glad we were on the same page because those were my thoughts as well. I think I'd do it, but like I said I'd have a parachute, I wasn't kidding about that part. I'd also train for it actually. If I had to free climb it screw that. Also my fear isn't usually with the climb as much as it is going down after the climb.

Montana, Michigan and West Virginia reported some of the lowest earnings for tower climbers, at an average of less than $35,000 per year.

 

Bottomline....if they have to go to the heights in the video all the time then they are ALL getting screwed. Their salary needs to be at least doubled.

I would be packing a base jumping parachute. That's the only way I'd ever be able to possibly do something like that. Even then I think I'd have a panic attack as soon as the elevator doors opened to start the climb up.

I was thinking the same thing while I watched this, and a million wouldn't even get me in the elevator.

$56k is not enough. Not even close. I'd laugh at someone if they were going to pay me $35k to do that job.

No amount of money would get me to attempt that.

I'd go for 100 Million.

Just saw this on youtube and had to put on here. You could not pay me enough money to do this. I was getting "queasy" just watching, and I watched the whole thing. You have to have a "steel pair" to do this.

 

 

Wow, made me nervous the whole time.

Very very very misleading statistic. Many of these jobs are subbed to a sub to a sub, etc., and the guy who is actually climbing the tower and actually doing the work makes very little.

I'm not sure I would chase $100,000,000 up there.

Count me in for 100M and I would think long and hard about doing it one time for 1M.

Just watched it and my hands and feet won't stop sweating. I can barely climb to the top of my 15ft deer stand. No chance I'm going to the top of that bad boy.
