Too many people has already been killed by guns on college campuses. North Carolina passing this bill just makes it easier for people/college kids to kill other people while on campus.

Campus mass murders have all been in gun free zones. Your right. Too many have been killed - because those that could have stopped the mass murders were disarmed deliberately.

Almost all mass-murders come in 'gun-free' zones. Sandy Hook, Aurora, Killeen Texas, Va. Tech, Columbine and on and on. All gun-free zones.

Maybe so many are being killed because they can't defend them selves. Almost every mass shooting has occurred in a gun free zone. Those that happened in malls and other areas where other people carried guns had greatly reduced numbers of casualties.

If a nut is going to kill a bunch of people it won't matter if it is a gun free zone or not, the best chance for lessened causalities is for someone to react quickly to the shooter.

I can see both of your all's points. But what if a college kid goes on a rampage and starts killing other college kids, (even if they are armed)?

I'm still not sure if I'm for this or against this just yet

True that could happen, but it has already happened at Va Tech and being gun free didn't stop it there.

I am not advocating the wild west. But when a large area like a university is known to be a totally gun-free zone by law you know have an advertised shooting gallery for any crazy. The closest responsive force (armed police off campus) are likely minutes or tens of minutes away.

The possibility of resistance from those already on campus at least gives a crazy shooter pause.

Both of you all make valid points. I do remember what happened at V. Tech. It may be safer to allow this.

Insurance companies are saying "Whoa Nellie" to the idea of arming teachers or adult students. Some insurers are even threatening to drop coverage for pistol-packing schools. So the marketplace may decide this issue, not ideology. (Google the NY Times article from 7-7.)

As others have mentioned, college, grade school and high schools have been where most of the mass killing have took place. But Why? Perhaps the adversary knows its "easy pickings?" They know that unless they see an officer they can do as they please, have a high kill count, before being taken out by someone who is allowed to carry there.

No one has been killed by guns. They've been killed by lunatics - with guns.

The same insurance companies being made wealthy by Obamacare....interesting bed fellows.
