I would be remiss if I didn't mention that the Poage Pioneers won it all that year...

Oh sure, bring facts into a perfectly good arguement... ;):D

The Mustangs have had some loaded boys and girls teams in the past. :thumb:

Good grief Doc, don't pop off and then back peddle! Go for the knock-out, shame on Ashland for stacking the odds in their favor in the Ashland Invitational Tournament. Shame on the Cats :irked:

No, I really wasn't popping off. If you have read some of my posts in the past, you would realize if I was poppin' off it would not be overtly subtle. I was serious with the post. If you want the truth from the doc, I don't think after seeing the tourney entrants, I think the RH team would be highly favored and would do well if not win against a team made up of the finer players from all the others. That would be "forward pedaling"! :thumb:

They certainly did that year. If I remember correctly (and at my age, that's a mighty big IF), there was some serious crying that Ponderosa had taken the cream of the crop from a couple of the other BC grade schools.

I wouldnt neccesarily say that, but Ponderosa has been know to load up one of their teams, since they normally have more than one boys team. :D

We normally only have one girls team, which consist of 4th and 5th Grade, and may I add were the AREA CHAMPIONS this year, with East Carter second and Rose Hill Third. :thumb:

I cant say as I blame Rose Hill, these young men are still 8th Graders. Let the kids be kids and enjoy their age for once, instead of playing older players night after night.. :thumb:

Would you blame Rose Hill if one of those varsity starters gets hurt and ends their season in a Frosh Tournament? According to most in the 64th, people think they might have a chance to beat Ashland. I would go out on a limb and say that that if one of those gets hurt they have NO CHANCE of BEATING THE TOMCATS!! (plus Ashland gets a free scout!) And on a side note I would say if they should get beat what does that do for the young kids confidence! Remember the Cats won't be down long and this maybe Rose Hill's best chance in a long time to get to Morehead! ;)

I wouldn't worry a bit about their confidence. The 8th graders should feel great since they compete with varsity players (I would venture to say they are BETTER than some varsity players). Every team has a chance. This season has been so up and down that you just can't predict a winner. I will be cheering on the Royals and whatever happens.............happens.

Anybody have a final on the West Carter - Fairview game?

The score was 9-8 at the half.

9 to 8 at half, who was kicking off to start the third quarter?

I still say let the kids be kids, quit trying to make them grow up any faster then they have to. Lets be real here, they have no way to win the Region this year, and probably no chance to beat Ashland.

But on your comment of Rose Hill's chance to make it to Morehead, they will have PLENTY of chances in the next few years, I believe you got your cats confused with Rose Hill. Hate to tell you but Ashland, Boyd, Fairview and Russell will all probably lose to Rose Hill for a few years.

TRUE, ROSE HILL CAME IN THIRD BUT TWO OF THEIR BETTER FIFTH GRADERS DID NOT PLAY ON THAT TEAM.

Perhaps he was shouting! ;)

LOL - he may have been, but if so, what's he going to do when he wishes to stress a point?
