Congratulations to fairview for beating Elliott and congratulations to Elliott's staff for not making a bone-headed decision in playing the three varsity starters.
Congratulations to Drew Boyd who hit what amounted to Fairview's game winning basket on his dad's birthday... :thumb:

Some great kids in this age group on both teams, including the Faulkners and Ferguson... just a great bunch of kids. They should make the 16th entertaining for years to come. :thumb:

Anyone know the time of the game tommorow?

I think the games start at 5:00, and if they go as scheduled with 1:15 between starts, the schedule should go as follows:

5:00 / Raceland - East Carter

6:15 / Boyd Co. - Ashland

7:30 / Greenup Co. - Rose Hill

8:45 / West Carter - Fairview

Perhaps AT41 or another Ashland Booster can confirm or correct this.

How much is a ticket?

My prediction for the tournament is Raceland and Ashland advance, with Raceland advancing to th finals. In the other bracket, Greenup and West Carter advance, with Greenup advancing. The finals is won by ..............

Are these games being played at the High School or down at the gym on Lexington Avenue?

The tournament is held at Alumni Gym on Lex. Ave.

Out of curiousity, how do the brackets get formed? Out of a hat, etc. or other?

Unless a school is brain dead, the brackets are set up with the intent of bringing the biggest crowds for the most dates. This results in the most revenue being generated, while determining the best team.

A) Any school that is physically close is usually preferred over one that travels a great distance.

B) Any school that brings a strong following is usually preferred over a team that gets little support.

C) The home team is usually seeded in such a way as to maximize their longevity in the tournament (see the first bullet).

Oh, I agree that it was skewed toward the home team surviving longer and I didn't intend any barb with the question. Just curious how this one was drawn up initially.

I highly doubt that Raceland would beat Ashland if they both advance. Ashland beat Raceland in the regular season by around 20 points or so. I also think that Rose Hill will advance.

Good grief Doc, don't pop off and then back peddle! Go for the knock-out, shame on Ashland for stacking the odds in their favor in the Ashland Invitational Tournament. Shame on the Cats :irked:
