Glasses and hearing aids

Featured Replies

Both are in my very near future. I can't see or hear anymore. Any other BGP'ers had to get one or both after turning 45?

What?

I turn 45 in November and I am in desperate need of both!

I hear fine.

As for the sight... I've been wearing either glasses or contact lenses since second grade so I really don't know what life is like without them. You'll be fine.

Same here. I can hear a mouse fart from 1000yds but have been nearsighted for as long as I can remember.

Between drums and music I'll easily be deaf in 20 more years...

Just turned 47. Had 20-15 vision and just really good eyesight up till the last year or so. I still tested 20-20 at my physical in January and nurse was surprised I haven't had to have glasses yet at my age, but in no way do I see as well as I did when it comes to fine print and lower light situations. I doubt very seriously I will test 20-20 next time. Hearing, the nurses are amazed at how well I still hear and was told again in January that I have almost "perfect" hearing...except when it comes to my girlfriend that is.

I'm a member of both clubs. Although I've been wearing glasses since I was 18. Didn't get bifocals until after 40. And got the hearing aids after 50.

Man getting old must suck.

Beats dying young.

Seriously though, losing your sight would be absolutely horrible.

Had lasik 17 years ago. Need readers now. My hearing sucks too!

I am 45, seeing isn't what it used to be close up and it is almost time for a pair of sexy cheaters. Hearing is fine as long as there isn't any background noise. I can live with some cheaters for vision but I will hold out as long as I can on any type of hearing aids. LOL

One bonus everyone, LRCW is so big I never have a problem seeing him or hearing him coming.

Beats dying young.

But the good, they die young. So some of us must be nasty old......
