I always said somerset was a talented team. I felt they were more talented than NCC last season. That game was lost in the pregame because of a few undisciplined players. The personal foul late in the game didnt help them either.

 

NCC was very banged up in the playoffs and if not for a 70 degree day in December, I honestly feel they beat Caldwell easily last year. I think if somerset had gotten past NCC, they handle Caldwell fairly easily as well.

 

My gripe with somerset last year was, all their fans claimed the semi final game was the real title match. Then after NCC wins, their attitude changed, not giving NCC much of a chance against Caldwell.

This year the west side of the bracket is WAY tougher than the east side, but should Caldwell win their district in the regular season, they do not have to play a playoff game outside of the friendly confines of Tiger Stadium until they go to Bowling Green to pick up the trophy. :dancingpa:banana:

Outside of Caldwell Co, Glasgow and O Cath, who else in the west has a shot? Bardstown maybe?

Murray is always tough, Green County has the talent to fight through, DeSales is very goo, and Union County has a whole lot of talent coming back, they just need to get it going properly.

I've had Caldwell Co has the prohibited favorite since last December and see no reason they are not still #1 in AA

Lots can change in high school football in a year.......remember after 2010 when NCC waxed a Junior dominated O-Cath everyone had O-Cath winning the final in 2011 most likely against Somerset? And it turned out to be Cov. Holy Cross upsetting NCC in a squeaker then rolling thru the semis and finals and O-Cath was nowhere to be found.

I hear Caldwell County has added another kid from Minnesota who is going to be a starter somewhere. Haven't seen him yet, but was told he was a LB/RB type.

 

As of Monday, Caldwell had 77 kids out for football.

 

Things appear to be lining up well for the Tigers ... nothing left to do but go out and play those pesky games :lol2:
