What is a reconstruction model?

A guy does 3-D reconstruction of the bodies and the angles of the bodies during the fight. It's a software program.

:lol2: Ok, so it is literally what it says it is. I thought it was some kind of legal term.

Dr on the stand for the defense. 20 minutes in to establishing his credibility. Prosecution needs to say "we give - he's qualified" and get this thing moving.

Learned something new. If you place a gun with blanks to your chest or head and fire it you can still die. The gas formed will rip through your skin.

There was an actor years ago that died this way...I can't remember who, but it seems that it was an actor on a TV show that was trying to prank everyone and shot himself with a blank and died.

Found it: John Erik Hexum on the set of the series CoverUp in 1984.

Dr said the barrel was against Trayvon's clothing but Trayvon's clothing was 2 to 4 inches away from the body.

He said if there are "powder tattoo marks" then that means the barrel had to be at least 1/2 inch away from the body. The size of these marks tell him it was 2 to 4 inches away.

I don't remember why this is important but I seem to remember the debate about the gun touching the skin.

^I think it's to try and prove he was on top of GZ, thus his clothes sagging away from his chest when the shot was fired.

I've heard it countered that the juice can in his hoodie pocket would also be pulling the clothing away from his chest though. :idunno:

That does sound familiar as to why this is important. Dr said this is not difficult to determine - 101 level stuff.

Dr addressed the issue of the can in the pocket. Said it only reinforces his belief that Trayvon was over GZ leaning forward at the time he was shot.

Dr says Trayvon would have had ability to move his arms for 10 to 15 seconds after he was shot.

I think that if the gun was against the body/shirt there would also be "blow-back" in the barrel of the gun as well. I don't think anything was said when the firearms expert was on the stand about there being anything in the barrel of the gun. The lack of material from TM in the barrel of the gun would also suggest that the gun was not pressed against his body.

Prosecution best served by letting the Defense go through mind-numbing qualifications of Defense expert. By the time the Defense Expert actually gives his opinion, jury will be tuned out.

Prosector tried the ol' "you're getting paid for this - how much have you billed so far" routine. Guy said "$2400 so far -it's not very complicated forensically."

How does that matter? Would it really make a difference how much he was getting paid?

Some might think that an "expert" earning $20,000 to share his opinion in court is a bit biased...

I guess some might question his ability to be partial if he is making a lot of money from one side.
