Barker

Bonnafon

I'd be surprised if it's not one of those two.

Elam may the most dominant though.

I co-sign Clizzy. I'm interested in seeing if anyone can challenge those top 3 solid choices. I think it is Barker's to lose.

St X Charles Walker

I expect Walker to have a very, very big year. Bonnafon for sure should be in the hunt, and much will depend upon which team (Trinity or St. X) gets to the 6A finals.

I would go with Barker as well. It is his to lose, and I am assuming he has someone to throw to.

Just doesn't seem like you can beat out anyone from the big time programs. Thought for sure Timmons of FC had a shot last year, but seems like someone from the big venue gets it.

I don't think Timmons coming in 2nd was because of Quick going to T. It was because Quick was a stud against crazy-good competition. Timmons has the chance to be as good but Quick was a relatively easy choice.

Loose makes a good point. I think it comes down to Reggie and Charles. Whoever's team goes farther, wins Mr. Football. Not too familiar with this... Is there a Mr. Football for each class or one overall state winner?

One overall winner.

Does mr. Football take into account varsity production over each players respective careers or just the upcoming season?

If there was a way to remove all memory from a voter then I'd say it was just for the senior season. However,....

In that case. Why wouldn't walker be a prohibitive favorite?

I don't follow.

On paper it is about the player's senior season but as Clyde said most, if not all voters will likely remember each player's entire career.

To answer your question....Walker isn't the prohibitive favorite because Barker has been a star since his sophomore season. Barker committed to UK. Barker is ranked among the best of the nation's quarterbacks and players. Barker is known throughout the state while Walker is just now gaining publicity. It is Barker's award to lose.
