I agree with you! People were wearing out their keyboards to talk about Jones. But, as has been mentioned, it was a local story so more interest than a story from New Zealand, people don't come in here 24/7, plus it's summer and I am sure a lot of us are away from the computer more. And I suspect that a few people are more concerned with bashing Jones having consensual sex with a 17 year old Vs a 36 year old having sex with an 11 year old.

 

I don't think that the title is off base. It is what it is. I bet a lot of people, women in this situation included, didn't know that an 11 year old boy could get one pregnant. It's easy to talk about how her poor choices, especially since he turned her in, in fact, when an article talks about someone's poor choices people they bash the article as it's talking about a poop choice. They can't win either way.

Well, I am sure a lot of people wouldn't think that someone that young could get someone pregnant, as I always said "There are over 7 billion people on the face of the Earth, most don't have common sense, it's time to thin out the herd by about 2 billion". But, it's also you just don't think of with someone so young, but I have seen it in Eastern Europe, not sure if the father was that young.

 

The reason I said I wonder what she looks like is: Is she really nice looking? How could anyone who looks halfway presentable do this? I mean, it's one thing to have sex, but another to have someone this young be the father of your child, what was she thinking? If she is nicer looking, how will this play in her prosecution?

 

But, this also shows that having the birds and the bees talk with kids 9,10 or 11 isn't a bad thing, as well as parents letting their kids know they can come to them for anything if they feel something is wrong.

Where were the parents of the 11 year old boy when his friend urged him to skip school and hang out at his house? Umm...what? I'm certain my child of around this age couldn't yet get one over on me to skip school and hang at "Billy's" house.

This woman is a predator and a menace to society. I agree with Mentsch, she should spend a long time locked away. Her actions are despicable.

The main issue here is that a 36-year-old woman gave an 11-yr-old beer, in her own home, then had sex with him on numerous occasions. The focus of the article should be about the poor choices of this messed up woman, not the fact that the 11-yr-old was a sperm donor.

I agree. The thread title is factual, but the bigger issue is the woman's predatory criminal actions. I give Jumper_Dad credit, though, I know he didn't mean anything by it and I'm glad he exposed the story. I have an almost-11-year-old at home and I look at him and see a baby. No way I could imagine a grown woman taking advantage of him at this age. It is unimaginable, yet it happened and it has made me think.
