Another thread got me to thinking about all the tangible and intangible reasons a kid (or an adult, looking back) would want to play for a particular school, program and/or coach. This may be a weird question, but I'll throw it out for discussion anyway. My question is this: If you could play (or could have played), for any other KY team than the one on which you currently play or support, which present day team would it be?

 

And just to remove all of the usual suspects and make things interesting, let's say you can only choose from teams that have NOT won a state championship in this century -- in other words, since before 2000. So intangibles and aspects unrelated to trophies may play a role in your choices.

I wouldn't have played. There are too many teams I admire and would love to play for that have won a title since 2000 and I wouldn't dare suit up for Warren Central. They are the only other option.

1987 Boone team I grew up with some of those guys and played youth ball with them too.

The 1981 Elizabethtown State Runner-up team. Some super athletic recievers with big time speed to throw to.

 

Heck, I would have love to been allowed to throw the ball 50 times a game. But then again when a team is one dimensional they usually don't win the big ones, so I will stick with throwing it a measly 8 times a game...LOL

I don't. My brother in law likely will. He played with Aaron Miller, Tubs Glancey, Daniel Pfau and that crew. He played for Coach Damron.

Cool. I'd probably know him. Would have played against that bunch when they were on the hill. That was a talented group.

I would not have wanted to play for anyone else other than Tom Duffy. I know he isn't liked by many but he taught me so much more than football. Still talk to him to this day. Great coach, great guy.

I would have played for Ryle. I worked w/ a few guys from the team and enjoyed their mentality. I, also, thought that Ryle had the best looking girls in Northern Kentucky.

Obviously, I would want to have played for Simon Kenton.
