Honestly I enjoyed it. I felt like a fan in the upper level.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe they said Duncan has more playoff wins that four NBA fanchises?

LeBron is getting all types of hell on the radio. No way you pass it to Bosh in that situation, if you are going to pass it to the perimeter he's the last option in my mind.

Go Spurs. Really hope SA gets Game 2 as well so we can see the Heat jock riders really squirm. LeBron gets a triple double and they still lose? I love it.

I'm already excited for game 2. I'm curious to see what kind of adjustments are made.

So you are brave enough to make a bet? Worst case scenario for the Spurs is they trail 2-3. Miami wins game two, Spurs win two of three and need one on the road to win.

He's going to be a free agent now, but if they could move him for an Al Jefferson type player they need to do it as soon as the season ends. Even if its not Jefferson they need to get at least a decent post guy and a couple other pieces out of him. Bosh is almost as big of 16 million a season waste as Amare is.

Surprised Spurs won tonight. I figured the long lay off would hurt them.

Like I said a few days ago, out of all the teams to ever compete for a championship (in any sport) this Spurs team needed the layoff more than any of them. Most of the time lay offs are a killer, but this Spurs team is the opposite in that regard. They play a lot better with the rest, that's why Pop has rested them all season. It's took a couple of seasons to get it right but they are finally rested and peaking at the right time. Last few seasons they have had the best or one of the best records in the Western Conference, just couldn't make it through the playoffs. Now with the rest, they are going to be tough to beat.

Another thing thats pretty bad is when you have a guy get a triple double with 17-18 boards and people are still complaining you should have done more.

What an opening game! This series is going to be a chess match. It is the Heat's move. They tried a few things in the 4th quarter that didn't work so back to the drawing board.

 

I expected this to be a tough matchup for the Heat because of Parker and Ginobli's ball handling. The key stat to watch in a Heat game is turnovers. They play great defense, get turnovers and they are the best in the NBA at turning those turnovers into easy baskets. Last night the Spurs had 4 turnovers. Tony Parker did not have one turnover in the game. Amazing.

 

The second factor I wanted to see was how the Spurs defended the Heat in the half court. This was the most impressive thing about the Spurs win IMO. Their half court defense was fantastic, especially in the 4th quarter. The Heat didn't blow anything last night. They just got beat by a team that outplayed them. The Spurs cut off the penetration baskets and still were able to jump out on the shooters and keep them from getting open looks. People dogging LeBron for passing the ball to Bosh - I have to disagree. LeBron had no shot on the play and Bosh got one of the best looks at the basket all night. He just missed the shot. I think it was a good decision by LeBron. If he forces up the shot with guys all over him and misses, people are hammering him today for not kicking it out to Bosh. The poor 4th quarter showing by the Heat was all about great defense by the Spurs.

 

LeBron's stat line last night was great. You look at those stats and you have to believe the Heat win, especially the 18 rebounds. If you look at the box score, you have to wonder how the Heat lost. Great stats for LeBron. Bosh had 13. Wade had 17. Allen was 3-4 from the floor on three's and had 13. Miller went 2-3. They outrebounded the Spurs and outshot the Spurs. Where did the Heat go wrong? Looking at all that, it tells me it comes down to defense. The Heat, like all great teams, play great defense. But the Spurs were too efficient with the 4 turnovers. The Heat have to get it done on defense to win game 2. Watch the turnovers by the Spurs. That is where this series will be won or lost.

This was my sentiment as well. Just great basketball to watch. Two great teams doing battle. If you are a basketball fan you had to enjoy that game.

 

I also thought the Heat played well on offense. They have one set in particular with Bosh and James on the elbows, they drop the ball to Lebron on the bench side elbow and then Bosh comes across for a screen and roll that is hard to defend in that limited space.

 

Despite good shots and solid play the Heat just couldn't match the Spurs efficiency in the fourth quarter. Tim Duncan took advantage of his matchup in the post and Tony Parker was fantastic.

 

One really bad sign for the Heat in my opinion is the fact that they did get quality production from their bench. Allen was solid, Miller was solid and even Joel Anthony provided quality minutes, with at least 2 offensive rebounds that I can remember. Despite all that they still lost, at home.

 

I don't think that means this series is over, far from it, but it makes for entertaining basketball for sure.

He's not a free agent. He will be in Miami unless he's traded. They all have player opting for 2014/2015. Next year will be the last of the big 3.
