Miami matches up a lot better against SA, that's why I like them to win it again. I think the Spurs can get a couple games, but they will not have the dominant defense and post control that Indiana had. Duncan is a lot better matchup for Bosh, and SA does not have a David West to provide that one-two punch down low. I think the perimeter play decides this series and I favor Miami. Parker could be troublesome, but put Wade or even Lebron on him if you have to. I don't think Manu and Leonard are going to beat you by themselves.

I like the matchup. It can go a lot of different directions so it should be entertaining to watch. Job #1 versus the Heat is always take care of the ball. Tony Parker and Ginobli should be able to do that. I will be interested in seeing how the Spurs defend the Heat in the half court. My game plan versus the Heat is don't double anyone, including LeBron. When you double the Heat it leads to easy buckets inside or open looks from 3 point land. Don't double and control the other players on the Heat. If LeBron averages 35+ for the series, the Spurs win. Finally, everyone to the boards for the Spurs. Do not allow the Heat to get second chance points. I think it is going to be a fun series.

It's obviously subjective but Kobe is the better player than Duncan IMO.

 

Duncan is/was a much better leader and was more patient about the Spurs building a team.

Leonard would be guarding Lebron I would guess.

 

How is that going to work out? Followed by who? Battier will get run in this series too I bet.

 

Do the Spurs play enough defense to beat Miami? That is the only way teams have almost been able to do it. Clog the lane and dominate the boards. Can San Antonio do that?

Heat with the sweep. Spurs just don't stack up IMO.

The Spurs have gotten their best case scenario IMO. They are going to be very well rested which is very needed playing a team that had to play 7 tough games. Miami won't show it in the first game but by the 4th, the wear and tear will really show on them. If the Heat want to win this they have to win 3 of the first 4 or they will be in huge trouble.

 

I think the rest is going to have the exact opposite effect. Miami can carry over the momentum of a dominant game 7 while SA will have to sweep off the rust from the long wait.

Possibly, but I would argue the Spurs needed the rest more than it will hurt them. If any team in the last decade needed rest in between series', it is this Spurs team. I mean Pop's been resting these guys all season for crying out loud, so obviously they need it. He has tried to manage their fatigue for the last couple of seasons and has ended up falling short, I think he will finally have them rested this time. 99% of teams would be hurt with the long layoff, in any sport. BUT, this years Spurs team is the exception and not the rule.

Resting generally hasn't helped anyone. The team that has won the finals it recent years has had the harder path to get there.

I think he is smart enough to get at least a game from Miami for the Spurs, Parker will get one for the Spurs...and Miami will win the other four.

This Spurs team is used to rest. Like someone else said the spurs have been resting all year.
