Guru's favorite football programs

Featured Replies

In another thread, the guru mentioned that he is a big fan of Trinity's football program. Also, I think it is common knowledge on BGP that the guru played for Beechwood and is a fan of their program.

So, guru, what other programs are you a fan of, and why?

This thread would probably be a lot more fun if other members told us why they believe I am a fan of a given program and then I can confirm or deny it. And of course the idea is to be as factual and funny as possible.

Anyone?

The Guru is above all else a fan of Highlands - web traffic is important but most of all...those pre-game cocktail parties with some BGP homies.

I agree I am a huge Highlands fan.

Highlands always treats me like royalty when I attend/cover games there. I have met several Highlands grads through BGP that are amazing people and I proudly call a few of them my friends in addition to being great customers of BGP.

And yes parties at Henry and Lneck's house are the greatest, love them!!!

I suspect the guru is not a big fan on the 6A programs in Lexington, due to their history of underachieving.

I really want to know what he think of CovCath...

It should be:

Beechwood

Beechwood freshman

Beechwood JV if they ever get one.

Trinity, Highlands, all others

How can I not like Beechwood? I went there and coached there. Good times and I expect big things from the Tigers the next two to three years.

He's a closet Cooper fan.....just sayin

but on a serious note. He is definitely a Boone Co. fan, can't believe no one brought that up yet.

I do like Cooper because they broke the "Boone County Mold" and hired from the outside and... had great success early in their program.

Additionally, I have met a lot of really nice people associated with Cooper.

Beechwood and Boone County are his top two. Followed by Highlands and Boyle County. He has love for all of the NKY schools and has tremendous respect and love for Trinity and St. X.

TRINITY SHAMROCKS

I love going to games at Trinity. They roll out the green carpet whenever I come to town. T has set the bar for everyone else to achieve. In my opinion, Trinity "gets it."

Finally, Dr. Mullen has always gone out of his way to make me feel like part of the Trinity family. Thanks Doc!

Fits right in line with my own lifetime of experiences with Dr. Mullen. Great guy and a great leader for Trinity.

Maybe a more interesting thread would be what teams does Guru not like? :D

Underachieving school systems that deliberately put themselves at a disadvantage by establishing artificial boundaries?
