This post is a bit stale but I had to work today and went from GABP to coma last night.

 

The Reds had a table set out in the fan zone yesterday pre-game for free autographs. They had Fergie Jenkins signing. I thought it was a very welcoming gesture for the Cubs fans. The Reds experience is nice that way.

 

I walked past the Fergie table into the Reds gift shop which was packed. 4 twenty-something Cubs fans (a bit over-served) were looking to heckle. In a way too loud voice one guy asked no one in particular "WHERE CAN I GET SOME CUBS SHIRTS??" A guy who looked like Andy Griffith in a Reds cap told him in the most genuine way that there was a vendor right out front with Cubs shirts and caps and if he didn't see anything there, inside the gate on the left there was a stand that carries opposing team gear. Foiled by the most polite guy in the world.

 

GABP's family friendly atmosphere is pretty hard to match. (Quite a different experience than a Sunday afternoon at PBS.)

Jason Giambi agreed that Chapman, who is known to have a wild arm at times, did not throw at Swisher on purpose and said the Indians' reaction was more about supporting their teammate.

 

"I've talked to Chapman plenty of times, and he's a great kid," Giambi said. "But we're going to protect our guys, too, especially Nick, who's a big leader on this ballclub, just to let him know, 'Hey, we've got your back.' But I don't think there's anything to it."

I don't think anyone throwing a ball that hard would throw at a persons head intentionally, heck I don't think anyone would. Chapman was just really amped up today and had no control. Don't know why you think he was throwing at Swisher intentionally NCF and All Tell?
