Lets see if Ryle actually pays attention to those surveys! I believe the problems Ryle has had starts at the top. Think outside that little box of theirs and I'm sure they'll find a great coach with no kiddies attached.

Would you really know what many current players said on a survey? I realize exaggerations can mistakenly happen on these posts. Basketball fans would know that there are many many situations in both High School and College that have a parent with a child on the team. It's only a problem if the coach doesn't handle it properly and that’s only a problem if the administration let's it become one. As always, the key is in the right hire. As I've stated, the program needs a good X's and O's coach capable of developing talent, understanding coaching adjustments from the bench, providing positive leadership, and understanding the dynamics of coaching a large varsity program. I would hope the administration would no rule out any candidate that met that criteria based on their daughter living in the school district the same that I would hope no administration would hire someone simply based on their son or daughter being a talented player. It's time for this program to elevate. Make the right hire.

Most of you never watch high level AAU teams or coaches. There are alot of bad AAU coaches, but not many bad coaches coaching the Elite teams.

After the debacle Ryle has experienced with this situation in several (football, boys basketball, girls basketball, and softball to name a few) sports programs they would be wise to change courses on parent head coaches, assistant coaches, quarterback coaches, etc. I fully agree it is time for this program and the others to elevate. Why not spend the time searching for the most qualified, experienced candidate instead of just selecting a dad who suddenly became interested in coaching in the program and high school coaching in general when his daughter or son entered high school?

I think the common ground to focus on here is we might both be saying hire the best person for the job...right? From my view I would not want to see the right candidate ruled out because his son or daughter goes to the school there just as I would not want to see the wrong candidate selected just because his son or daughter goes there. Crazy concept, but how about let the candidates apply and select the best person for the job.

I think the Prep Fan is stating that with the loon culture of parents at Ryle, they need to wipe out all parental involvement and this would be a start. The parent culture at Ryle is some of the worst I've seen. Crazy combo of hillbilly's and Triple Crown money has made it one interesting cesspool at Ryle. Anyone defending them, or offering excuses, is too close to the situation to realize they are part of the problem. "It's ok, this guy will be different." Nope. Same parents but good luck.

Bit mean but points for cleverness for sure. C'mon man... We can all chant it together..."hire the best applicant... Hire the best applicant"..... Parent coach or not ... Hire the best applicant

If Ryle continues with the parent approach, they will continue to have problems. Hiring Schwartz would be a big mistake.

I think Schwartz will be a great hire. He will have that team competing ever year. Just hope they don't when they play Conner.

Well hopefully a decision is made soon or at least assign an interim head coach. These girls are missing out on June scrimmages and team camps plus a lot of the fund-raising that needs to happen over the summer. I know they have already missed the deadline to get into the NKU team camp and other deadlines are coming up this week for several other camps in this area. The team has been conducting open gyms and strength and conditioning, but it will be disappointing if they miss out on these other opportunities.
