May 17, 201313 yr I skimmed through the first day of the combine and nothing exciting to report as most of the bigger names are sitting out in the interest of not harming their draft stock. Across the board the draft is horrendous. A lot of PGs in the combine that many believe can make a roster as a reserve. The most high profiled guy was Shabazz. Shabazz apparently measured around 6'4" without shoes which I have always thought he was undersized. Nice wingspan. Age: 34. All kidding aside NBA guys have a lot of concern with his age being older and his lack of explosiveness.
May 17, 201313 yr Some are making a big deal about Nerlens' weight. 206 I think it was. He's probably lost some mucle mass in his lower body. I think he can put on 30 lbs in the next year with out any problem and it'll be a while before he's expected to be playing in a game scenario any ways.
May 17, 201313 yr Frenchman Rudy Gobert really helping himself, dudes freakishly long. Like stated about the PG's, no elite guys but IMO a lot of good rotation point guards in this class. Burke may be a starter, but a lot of guys who will likely be solid backups or guys who could eventually start. I really like the little Schroeder kid from Germany. I liked what I saw during the Hoop Summit, he's a little bullet with the basketball, I think he can be a good NBA player one day.
May 17, 201313 yr Sounds like Archie Goodwin is playing himself out of a shot at the first round. Along with BJ Young and Myck Kabongo he was one of the worst shooters there in the 3pt drills.

May 17, 201313 yr Shane Larkin had the highest vert in 12 years - 44 inches. Saw yesterday where he also had the worst looking shot of the combine. :idunno:

His jumper needs serious work but NBA GMs already know this.
May 18, 201313 yr Saw yesterday where he also had the worst looking shot of the combine. :idunno: 38% from the arc and 80% from the stripe. I wish Byron had his athleticism.
