1) He has never been ejected. Not once in his career. You can check the KHSAA listing of ejections to confirm that.

2) The ball last year two hopped into an empty dugout.

3) The arguing of calls normally came on calls in which he there was a valid argument.

4) Stealing bases when up 10, 11 or 12 runs is bush league and that is what was said tonight after the game.

Agree 100%. I refuse to ask my kids to stop playing.

Sounds great, but make sure you also can explain to your team why your kid catches one in the ribs(or somewhere else if the pitcher is nasty). Its part of the game, right

Difference between playing hard until the end and stealing bases up 10 or more....

Yes I understand. But also there are contributing factors maybe bad blood between teams as a rule when my team get up by 10 we do stop stealing. But I would NEVER tell a kid not to give 100 percent no matter what the score is.Also there is rec league baseball where the competitive instinct is more laxed. My opinion when you get to the high school level all bets are off and its up to the other team to field a team that can stop my offense.I know im in the minority but if you read all my comments im consistant, fair and as a rule dont care what other people think.Ive been involved in high school baseball for 30 years and have a very good track record....

Yes you are consistent in your beliefs. Perhaps a lightening rod with them :lol2: but very consistent.

I agree I would stop stealing but would not stop playing correctly or hard. Now I would also get every kid on my bench into a 17-5 game as long as I felt confortable with the lead.

No dog in this fight but I view #3 above a bit differently than a straight steal of 2nd of 3rd base up 10+ runs. Staying out of a force out is smart baseball. Once you are up 10+ runs I can see advocating station to station base running.

I agree with Horst on this one. Runner on first and third......as long as you aren't sending the runner on third home, then taking second to take you out of the a double play OR if you are putting in less talented players, it also gives them a chance to reach base on a called third strike........again, as long as you aren't also sending the guy on third home.

Wasn't there, couldn't care....just imo.

I agree 100 percent.Every kid on the bench should play in that situation. But play hard....:ylsuper:

Playing hard and putting your nose in it are two different things. I promise you in the big leagues they don't stop playing hard but if someone is bunting or stealing up about 5 or 6 runs someone gets plunked. You can allow your players to advance on hits still hustle into all bases and score runs without rubbing it in, if you will. jmho

If you read my comments I said when my team has acheived the run rule differential I would stop stealing and taking an extra base. But I will tell you if im on the other end of that and I see a coach laying down for my team it would insult me.I know my style of coaching has long past that is why I spend my time scouting now of days and what I see mortifies me I see kids leaving the bench to go to the concsession stand during a game,I see parents bring food and players eating during a game,I see players on their cell phone during games it has all changed for the worse in my opinion

Yes!!! I have witnessed that out of a few opponents at varsity games this year and it is ridiculous.......

So, you would risk injuring a kid from an opposing team because of a coaches decision. This is high school baseball; freshman at that, not the pro's.

Conner was up 6-2 in the 5th. Ryle scored 5 runs on 1 hit. A lead-off walk and 5 errors in the inning did the Cougars in. Best of luck to both teams tomorrow in the finals!
